Muffin Break Treendale — Restaurant in Western Australia

I went here with my sister and her two kids ages 5 and 7 on the weekend and had a terrible experience. We ordered 4 muffins and a coffee take away as the youngest can take over an hour to eat so we thought it would be easier to get takeaway so we could leave when ready. While I was waiting for my coffee I asked for some plates so we could eat the muffins in the seating area. We were told by the aggressive male barista that we were not allowed plates and we weren't allowed to dine in as we ordered takeaway.

So while I waited for my coffee, my sister and the girls sat at a table and just started breaking off pieces of the muffins to eat while waiting. Then a young staff member went over to them saying that they had to leave and were not allowed to dine in even though I was still waiting for my coffee..

I have been to many different muffin break stores and always order take away while dining in as I myself cannot usually finish my coffee and muffin so takeaway makes it easier to take home or continue shopping.

Also it's not like they were super busy and there were no tables available for people dining in. There were only two other tables in use at the time so most of the area was empty. I may have understood if they were full and didn't have enough room for dining in customers, but that wasn't the case this day.

I usually love muffin break but I refuse to go back to this store due to the treatment...

This review is a shout out to Chloe! In a world where being self-absorbed and self-centred seems to be more common, along comes Chloe, who doesn't just break, but actually SMASHES that attitude! A huge thank you to her, not only for her lovely service and attitude towards customers, but for her random act of kindness, when much to my surprise, she paid for my coffee and muffin! To say that I was stunned is an understatement! Thanks to Karl too; the Treendale cleaning staff member who very generously paid for my elderly friend's coffee and muffin. I go to this place regularly and never had a problem. But now it has changed hands. My friend and i ordered coffee a couple of days ago. We both asked for extra hot as we usually do. It took ages to come so i went up to the counter to find out sitting there. I said to the woman making coffee that this is ours but how long has it been sitting here because we wanted extra hot she said she was swamped and preceded to tell me how busy herself and the guy at the till were that's why she hadn't brought it over i said that's not my fault and she yeld back at me that it wasn't her fault either.
