Posting a negative review does not sit comfortably with me, however I am so disappointed that offering a fair resolution did not come about, when the barista admitted she lost concentration …….
At 2:30pm today, Saturday 7th August 2024, I purchased a large soy mocha and a large almond milk cappuccino. My daughter and I drink alternative milk for health reasons, not as a trend. Neither drinks were labelled and the barista had absolutely no idea which was which, she was simply guessing. Maybe that’s because when my daughter tasted them they both seemed to be the same!! I went back and pointed this out, the young lady again changed her mind as to which drink was which. Then her response was we needed to stir them! She really did not seem to care!
Feeling extremely disappointed and concerned about drinking something that may cause us to be unwell we put the coffees in the bin. So much for the $15.50 and a nice coffee in the sun by the seaside.
This young lady was cheerful and polite but gave no consideration to our situation, even after admitting she lost concentration. I have been left wondering with that lack of concentration did she even make what we’d ordered?
The decent thing please would have been to offer to remake our order, after all you messed it up! We all make mistakes at times, please next time consider how you...
Read moreGreeted by friendly and efficient staff. We only went in for a flat white that was crafted beautifully and tasted great. In the food service area waiting on servers to collect, which they did promptly, were plates of delicious smelling food that looked like they were made from scratch. I will be back to try lunch. Wheelchair friendly with only outdoor seating. Next to beach carpark (wheelchair slots) and ferry service to Penguin Island. Also next to it is the Islands booking office and souvenir shop. Great little fishing spot off small jetty next to it too. Cafe and shop have eftpos facility. I didn't see an ATM, I think the closest ones are next to the IGAs at Penguin and Safety Road and the other at Shoalwater Shopping Centre both within 5m car journey but 20min and 30m walk roughly. Only downside is that it shuts at 2pm on Mon, Tue, Wed?? and 3pm on all other days like all the other cafes in this area. Wondering if it is a council restriction for eateries around here as other local cafes also close at 3pm. Not a good thing for locals and tourists coming off the penguin island ferries in Summer (last return ferry at 4pm) I would imagine. I would give 4 stars for this reason but give 5 as I am not sure of the reasoning behind the early closing and it doesn't reflect all other elements of the business which...
Read moreWent there yesterday for lunch. What a disgrace. July 2025. Tables filthy, resident freebie local artist on a table with a dog, always there. Grubby, puts me off sitting there. Free art table for him. Kitchen closed at 1.30. It was actually 1.15. Chairs filthy, no pressure cleaning of the outdoor concrete bricks. Filthy. I felt like repotting them to the Health Department.then while we sat eating ice creams at a disgusting table under shades in semi darkness, the young girl proceeded to stack filthy chairs and turn filthy tables in their sides with food debris falling in to the filthy concrete. The vinegar bottles so dirty you can’t touch them. Take away prices for sit down meal prices. It should be shut down. Staff nice but totally inefficient. If I was an owner of this local filthy place I’d shut it down, get in contract cleaners, and paint those ancient tables and start thinking how you are expecting people to pay for poor food in cardboard boxes, filthy place, cardboard cutlery and what a waste of time. Pristine location ruined. Been there many many times and each time it goes down further along the drain. Any wonder people sit there for hours with...
