Tonight was our first time trying Royal Tarka.. never again!!!
I called the mobile number on the web page only to be greeted in a weird but faint hello. When I asked if I had the right number they agreed I had then went quiet. I asked if I could place a order for delivery and was advised he would have to get someone else to help me.
Not a great first impression but moving on. My order was taken quickly which was great and food arrived 25 minutes after that. I thought I was on to a winner!!
While dishing up dinner I had a sneaky taste of the lamb korma.. not mild like I asked and very dry!! I continued the serve dinner and break up the keema naan and the plain naan. The keema naan was not stuffed with onion and diced lamb it's a flat, crisp toast which has a spread of herbs through it. The plain naan was also crispy and just snapped and crumbled into pieces when I attemtped to pull it apart. The butter chicken sauce is very tasty but with what tastes like yesterday's tandoori chicken chunks through it. Yes the menu does say it has a tandoori flavour but it's extremely over whelming and the chicken is full of gristle.
I have written this review because I spent $46 tonight and couldn't serve this to my family. My 11 month old son who loves all foods ate the saffron rice and refused everything else. It's such a shame these days when you have to work your butt off to have a nice meal and receive garbage! Sorry but I won't be eating here again.
The one star is for the quick delivery and the saffron rice.
I would also like to add ... one day after writing this review I was refunded and thanked for writing an honest review in person. The owner/manager personally arranged for someone to come to my home....
Read moreOnline it says open till 9:30 and I even called the restaurant to just make sure. I arrived at 8:45 stood waiting to ask for a table for at least 10 minutes with counter staff being soo slow and the rest of the staff just walking past and looking at you not even bothering to ask if we needed anything. By the time I spoke to the lady at the counter I said can I get a seat for four she looked at the clock looked back at me and just blatantly said no and then looked back down at what she was doing didn't even give me a reason I then proceeded to ask well why and she just said they we are closing at 9 I then told her well online it says 9:30 and I rang earlier and the girl I had spoken to also said 9:30 she then said well yeah we close the restaurant dining at 9 and the kitchen at 9:30. Safe to say I was not happy and just left this kind of attitude she had towards me when I asked even made me not want to order take away. I'd rather now travel an extra 10 minutes to another restaurant in midland. I understand if your closing at 9 but don't have online 9:30 and also don't tell the customer 9:30 when they call to ask. Food is average most of the time anyway but I come back because it's the closest Indian restaurant to me but after this experience, I will now just travel the extra time and...
Read moreHands down the best Indian restaurant I've been to. I came here with my family last night and we all loved it. You could easily tell that all of the ingredients were fresh and well prepared by professionals. What really stood out was the butter chicken. Lots of butter chickens at other restaurants are really comparable, but this one was out of this world. The Chicken 65 was a fun experience, being possibly one of the spiciest meals I've ever eaten, but at the same time one of the tastiest. Although the spice was killing me, I couldn't help but have more. It was the first time in a while I've dined here, but my family have previously ordered takeout from here in the past and it was just as good, if not better, coming straight from the kitchen. Also to factor in the outstanding service of the wait staff, incredibly friendly and efficient.
If you're looking for the best possible experience with Indian cuisine, I would highly recommend you come to Royal Tarka. Everyone I've talked to that has been here thinks the exact same way I do, and any of the negative reviews on this place are utter woke nonsense. This is hands down the best Indian restaurant, if not the best restaurant I have been to in...
