Was a very unpleasant experience this morning at Swell. My mood was dullened with my coffee, ordered a flat white came out looking like a weak latte, after taking a sip it was like drinking hot water and hot milk. The waitress heard me whinge about it and gave me a dirty look. Then for her to question me like I was in the wrong , saying there was two shots of coffee in it and for me having to say no there isn't ive had a sip and I know what I am talking about because I dont like strong coffee and that's saying something. She then asked if i wanted a another shot of coffee, she took the old one away and brought it back, really !! By then it was just like instant coffee, I could have made a better coffee at home. It just got worse from there on.. our food came out , I ordered the smashed avocado which clearly wasn't smashed it was halved and cold, with 1x egg, toast was rock hard and cold, which was swimming in mayo sauce which made it soggy. To have it covered with rocket leaves. Paid $25. Was the worst coffee and breakfast I've ever eaten, I'd make a better breakfast at home and Maccas is even better, my friends didn't enjoy there's either. The service is shocking, so rude, pulling faces and looking at you in a disgusted way, like to if to say, how dare you!! When asked if we could get our photos taken she huffed and sighed and gave us the look, like come on. Won't be back and people only go for the beautiful view! Very disappointed and shocked at the customer service. I worked in hospitality and if I treated customer 's like that I would be fired. We delta with a Irish girl i think and a bigger, long black hair lady with a white tank top on, which I didn't think was dress...

I was recommended to try this place, looked a great location and the food I saw come out looked great! However, we walked in at 12.45 and ordered by 12.55 and told there would be a 45 min wait for food, not ideal but we can live with that.

Unfortunately our drinks didn’t come out until after 40 mins and only because we prompted the waitress to investigate. We waited a further 15 mins for the food a total of 55 mins from ordering, before I went and asked. Not one person could work out what had happened and we were told the kitchen doesn’t have our docket. The server said she could get our food on the fly but it would take another 10 mins, unfortunately we had to go pick up the kids from school and couldn’t wait any longer.

We were offered an apology and a refund for the food, but baffled that we were charged for the drinks. We left hungry and really felt let down by the level of service we given.

This may not of been one persons fault, but if servers we more on to it when walking past tables with numbers waiting for an hour without food, intuition would be to ask if they are waiting for something? Not waiting until the customer prompts the staff?

We watched two friends order food next to us and only one received her food, she finished it and the other girl had yet to receive anything.

My partner and I had taken annual leave to go for a nice lunch together and quite frankly it was a disaster. People stood taking money from patrons with no thought to service or care of...

Jan 2025: had a lovely mid-week brunch at Swell. Pancakes were a hit with all of us. The views and day were magnificent and service was very attentive. My wife and daughter, both coffee junkies, noted the excellent quality of the coffee. Appreciated the good service from all the servers and both service and chats with Julia about some common connections from Ontario, which just added to the fun, relaxed and friendly vibe. I tend to notice everyone around us there seeming to respond to the spot the same way. 😀 Update: Just visited again in Jan 2023 for breakfast on a steaming hot day. Swell is still one of the best spots. Food was great, service and food were prompt, staff were friendly, view magnificent. And going out afterwards for a swim is so refreshing! Just recommended them again recently to friends as a beautiful spot by the ocean. Love the spot at Swell. Staff are friendly, accommodating and attentive, the food is great and has a good range from family friendly through to higher value plates. The patio is gorgeous, overlooking the entire beach up and down the coast and well-protected with floor-to-ceiling windows, while also letting in a significant breeze if needed, so neither stuffy nor freezing. We also enjoyed the meal inside on our last visit. Fast becoming a favourite spot to dine, even though we have to drive 30 minutes...

⛱️ SWELL MULLALOO ⛱️ ---- HIGHLY RECOMMENDED ----👌 I came across Swell Mullaloo while on a week of work on the Northside. I'll start with the staff as everyone that I had an encounter with was a good one, Swell select their staff very well, the staff are the heart ❤️ of the atmosphere around Swell. Peta - efficient , friendly waitress and so attentive to her customers and fellow crew that she works with. Great customer service. The staff at the door are professional and helpful and will get a table ready for you as soon as one becomes available especially on a busy Saturday or Sunday morning. I have been back 3 days in a row so that says alot about the quality of not just the food but the atmosphere and venue, the staff and of course the view. I would recommend for lunch the Swell Burger with chips and bloody Mary tomato sauce accompanied with a Shirley Temple mocktail. Breakfast eggs on toast with the best hash brown I have ever tasted... no lie! I had the pancake on my last visit and as reviews can bring a little message to the chef to ignite a suggestion of improvement the pancakes could be fluffier and lighter as the mixture created a heavy pancake. I look forward to heading back to Swell in the neat future.

We enjoyed a lovely Sunday breakfast in swell with an Amazing ocean view from the restaurant cabin. We were bit late to book the table at the window side (better luck next time) Yet it was relaxed and light-filled cafe serving fresh, delicious food in generous portions ! great menu and fantastic service. We ordered pancakes kids, 2 Vego breakfast with fried eggs and mushrooms, we had one member allergic to mushrooms so one was substituted spicy beans instead, I would highly recommend fisherman’s bowl served smoked salmon edamame beans, Avo on toast was also a great plate with perfectly poached eggs and topped with salad greens. Best thing on all the plate was big thick triangle hash brown so tasty that I ordered an extra hash brown on side 😅 we also ordered these super refreshing cold pressed drinks Bazinga with mix of citrus with ginger, Hulk— kale, apple and lemon and Hakuna matata - watermelon with other fruits, Biscoff latte also looks interesting. Overall fantastic experience

I had only ever been here previously for a Christmas function which, at the time, had impressed me. So with my brother coming up from Australind and leaving it in my hands to choose somewhere to have brunch this was actually the first place that I thought of to try. It was a great decision. I had pre-booked a table and I'm glad that I had done so as it was extremely busy on a pleasant, sunny winters day. The service was really good which can sometimes make or break a place. The food was excellent and served hot. Was there a wait for coffee and breakfast? Well sure, the place was full! Was it an issue? No, not at all. The prices are pretty good especially for the wonderful location overlooking Mullaloo Beach. As with anything you're happy to pay for it when the food is sensational, service is great and the view/atmosphere is very pleasant. I would not hesitate to recommend Swell to anyone seeking a seriously great restaurant.
