This was a destination drive. 40 minutes from where we live. There was 3 spots to choose from and TLC was the only one open at 7:30am. It was worth the early morning drive. Greeted by a friendly, warm smile and a vibrant hello. We picked a corner window spot to watch the sun come up through the trees. Listening to the staff in the background, we could hear the friendly and genuine banter they have with their customers, most they new on a first name basis. Our selection for the morning was the pumpkin puree bruschetta, kid size scrambled eggs on toast with smoked salmon, a bowl of hot chips (a favourite with breakfast) a long mac and an affogato. Everything was made with love and you could tell. Wholesome, delicious, good size meals. On the way out, we stopped by the cabinet of baked goodies. I just had to. A mango loaf, rocky road and peanut butter GF/VEGAN caramel slice to takeaway. Would we go there again? Absolutely šŸ’Æ. Thank you team, Iri from Hillarys

Found this treasure of a cafe when visiting Mundaring on ANZAC day morning! The Owner and his staff could not have been more welcoming or friendly if they'd tried! As we were a party of three adults with two small children the owner happliy moved and joined tables to accomadate us. All the staff were professional and obviously enjoyed their job, they smiled and chatted to people and the sense of welcome and warmth was palpable. The prices were reasonable, the food was delicious with large portion sizes, and the Coffee was great!! As I also own and run a cafe i am quick to notice errors and potential faults, however the standard of EVERYTHING was to be commended! Well done guys, it was one of the nicest breakfasts we have enjoyed in a long time! We will be back!! (Pic is of their Big Breakfast!)

We went here for breakfast on the Sunday morning, that's why it was so busy. Here are just my opinions about drink, food and service. I ordered a Latte, my husband ordered a short macchiato. As a barista, I can tell my coffee had a Flat White's foam, not Latte at all and I couldn't taste the espresso flavor, really weak. The short macchiato didn't have a thick foam on top as it should have but it tasted nice though. A cashier said it take 15mins for the breakfast but actually it took 30 mins. My breakfast came out without cutlery and my husband had to stand up and ask for it and his breakfast came out 10 mins later than mine because they missed the order and the bacon was burnt. They offered us a free drink but we didn't want it. It was our first time here and pretty disappointed to be honest.

hello, my husband and I visited Sunday. I want to express my extreme dissatisfaction. As an active member of the vegan community, I was keen for some time to try the food. I was surprised to See a menu with very few vegan options despite this cafe promoting vegan foods. ( I can’t comment on sweets because I didn’t look at that side of things). I chose a dish with the letters VG in front of it which, according to the ledger on the menu, means Vegan. When I ordered, I ordered mine with a side serve of sour dough bread and an almond chai latte and then I said ā€œ and for my non vegan partner, ā€œ (and proceeded to give his non vegan order). When my food arrived I was presented with non vegan food. I said that the menu was misleading and the young nice waitress agreed and apologised. The manager then arrived and explained that I should have Said I wanted the Vegan version but she also agreed it was confusing and ā€œ misleadingā€. I was told I couldn’t have the meal replaced. I was then told my latte was also not vegan as it had milk powder in it and that ā€œ I should have mentioned if I had any allergiesā€. The message was that it was My mistake. She then offered to call ā€œthe owner ā€œ who told her that I couldn’t have a replacement meal nor a refund. Because I was hungry And my food choices were few in Mundaring on a Sunday, I chose to order and pay for another meal bringing our breakfast bill for two to over $70! That meal was 30 Mins in the making and very average AND did not include the mushrooms I paid $4 for as an extra. The fact that I was basically told it was my mistake yet the menu has been seen to be confusing and ā€œ misleadingā€ by not just me but two staff AND several other patrons who have expressed their own stories of dissatisfaction on social media, is beyond poor management of the situation. The owner had an opportunity to do the right thing and keep in good with the vegan community but for a few dollars, chose not to and instead, made Me pay and implied i was in the wrong . I was given a small piece of apple crumble slice to say sorry before leaving and although that was some sort of gesture, it still did not take away the fact that I was misled and had to pay for it. Customer service is key as is a clear menu. Don’t put VG in front of a dish description unless it is spelled out ā€˜ can be made vegan ’ or put in the ledger below ā€˜VG denotes can be made Vegan’ Their lack Of clarity cost me money and I was dismissed though not rudely, nonetheless, dismissed and no customer deserves this experience . Several other tables nearby heard the whole thing too so all round, there is some real lessons to be had in customer relations from staff to upper management who, had the final say and chose to not...
