"The staff try their best with what they're given". I've loved my morning coffee and occasional meals at Domes across Perth however I cant help but be disappointed here. The staff were lovely; sweet, kind, lovely to talk to and very welcoming, almost like a nice tight community (rare in cafes these days). The food was quite nice (for a cafe) although overpriced and the coffee was delicious. However. The staff I could see looked as though they were pushed to (if not past) their boundaries. Tired and sweating to keep up with the customers demands. Clearly this cafe NEEDS more employees and if that doesn't achieve a swifter/easier workload then more equipment, as one of the busiest Dome cafe's I've been too. The poor girls on the coffee machine had a line waiting out the door, and I was even surprised to see they were managing to keep up. Clearly if the need is this high for food and coffee the staff should not have to suffer working past their abilities because the business cant keep up. I also noticed as i sipped my coffee and nibbled at my cake that as the rush of the day picked up, some older management would begin to stress out the staff around her over small incidences, allowing most of us sitting nearby to hear what small issue had occurred. Not very calm and professional in my opinion.
With a few improvements, i could find the cafe quite relaxing rather...
Read moreI have come to this establishment twice in the last 2 months whilst visiting my sister. Coffee was amazing and the barista who served me amazing.
However the older women ,on both occasions who worked at the counter taking orders was rude!
Firstly me and my sister walk in at 7:30am and approach the counter , we are greeted with a side eye and then she looked us both up and down and said “What do you want” I let that slide and proceed to order. ( her response to our order yip, yip,yip here’s ur number where are you siting) We say thank you and step aside for the next customer to order. The next people behind us look at us and we’re like what was that ? I just shrugged my shoulders anyway. They step up to the counter and are greeted with “Good morning what would you like today and the biggest smile” Those customers looked at us both and say, wow I guess friendly customer service is only for certain customers. Me and my sister are Māori women and the lovely lady’s behind us were Caucasia. I just smiled at the other women and said I guess so. We sat down drank our coffee and ate our food. I then went up and asked for a takeaway box she then scoffed at me and pointed where there boxes were, I smiled and walked out.
I’m not bashing dome as a whole, just this particular employee who should do better. Don’t work in hospitality if you’re not happy to greet all...
Read moreI recently visited Dome for Sunday breakfast. The building and interior are lovely, the service was so, so. I will comment that the man who had to deal with my dairy issues after they couldn’t make the beverage I wanted because they had run out of almond milk was extremely polite and pleasant. The girl on the register wasn’t so helpful. I asked if the hollandaise sauce could be exchanged with another sauce. She was happy to remove it from my order but said I would have to pay for a replacement sauce. There was no refund for the removed hollandaise. The Rosti were disgusting. I did try to eat them but left a good portion. They and the eggs weren’t even warm. The Rosti were undercooked, in fact they were raw. In fact I was quite unwell when I got home. I have often driven past Dome Mundaring and said we should stop there but can now tell you that won’t enter my head again. I sure if I had complained I wouldn’t have received a pleasant reply. Maybe the other items on the menu might be ok but the...
