The Sporting Globe Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Western Australia

Took my son for lunch on his birthday, we stood at the line waiting to be seated for 10 minutes and there was only four tables full. We then got taken to a table. We waited for 15 minutes to order while the two staff talked and cleared tables. I had to go and leave the table and ask them if we could order. The food took another 20 mins which is ok but was just plonked down in front of us without a word said, and the food was fairly good. Not great service but thought they might be having an off day. We then happened to go again a few days later on the Sunday. It was a bit busier and only two staff on the floor and one in the bar. We got seated and told we would have our order taken in a couple of minutes. The staff then went and seated another three or more tables even though it was clear they couldn’t keep up with what they already had. We waited 20 minutes while they were rushing around making no eye contact and not even looking. I noticed three people from other tables have to go and get up from the table and ask for their order to be taken. Eventually I did the same after 20 minutes. The team member taking our order rushed through it, didn’t even look up at us and no apology. We ordered drinks to come out straight away. The food came out 25 minutes later ( just parmys and burgers) but still no drinks. We asked for them and I noticed that they had been sitting on the bar for about 10 minutes on a tray. I have worked in hospitality and I don’t usually complain but wanted to make management aware that they either need more staff or a better system or training. Every time we have been to the Rockingham one it has been excellent. We won’t be rushing back in there...

Got there and got seated at the table that was booked, even after all showed up we did not get any wait service at all, no water brought over, nobody coming to ask if we wanted to order drinks. Waited a good 20 minutes in total before I had enough and mind you, they have an option to order via their online service, great... if it wasn't because they also charge you a fee for that. So you do their job of taking the order and getting it to the kitchen and you pay them for doing that. First mistake which lead me to finally walk up and ask for service in which I'm told "short staffed, please place order at bar". Ok really bad there and not helping on mood. Going to the bar, places the order and have to bring drinks back to the table myself. Food came pretty fast and was decent, drinks watered down unfortunately so not really getting what you pay for. The atmosphere is so so... if you are a sports nut great for you, but for the rest of us who just came because they seem to have good food well it's just wasted on us. All in all, good food, terrible service and stupid ideas to help in ordering, honestly asking me to pay a fee to place my order online to help you? Got seated ok, the girl apologised fir the table not being clean so proceeded to clean it and said she would be right back with menu's, napkins and cutlery. We ended up getting our own menu's and cutlery as she got side tracked rather than concentrating on completing one thing at a time. No problem. We ordered food and drinks via the app. I know it's the way these days, but sooo impersonal and having a staffs input is unbeatable. Food was nice and cooked well. Ribs were soft and moist. Chicken wings were crispy on the outside and moist on the inside and went well with the smoked hickory sauce. It came on a bed of shoestring Fries. Not a fan of shoestring Fries as they hold more fat and go cold quick. Normal Fries are way better and would better suit this large dish. Chicken wrap was a good size and came with normal size Fries. Drinks menu was a little on the expensive side compared to other venues. Cocktails were way overpriced IMHO. 1kg Meat dish (chicken wings, half rack pork Ribs, shoestring Fries and coleslaw) Chicken wrap 4 x non alcoholic drinks Total $107.00 Lots of TV sets displaying sports of all different types. A few more boutique beers would be nice.
