Absolutely disgusting!
*UPDATE: I have corresponded with the owners of Trotters Cafe and they have given me a full refund for my meal and genuinely apologised. They held a staff meeting on 02/12/22 where they addressed all the issues and guaranteed that their staff are aware of the duties and the importance of a clean and tidy environment whilst dinning.
Would not recommend at all; if I could give a 0 star rating, I would. Very disappointed as I have been there before and it was great, and this time was horrendous; will most definitely not be returning.
Spent $60 and it was the worst meal I’ve had in a long time - came home and let’s just say me and the toilet are very well equated now. The pulled pork loaded fries: greasy, stringy cheese, no flavour in the pork and the small bit of gravy they attempted to add to help with the flavour just made the chips soggy - not at all appealing to the eye either.
The nachos - their “very OWN” chilli con carne, again, disgusting. It was black, the mince was burnt, the kidney beans were hard and the flavour… vile. The nacho chips were rock hard and somehow oily at the same time.
Now, for the worst part; as I went to grab the salt there were bugs on the cutlery!! (I took photos) and the other cutlery wasn’t cleaned properly, had hard bits of food still on them…. Disgusting!!
When we walked in, the tables around us (4 of them, and we sat at the one “clean” one) still had plates of food and dirty cups on them when we arrived, and they remained there until we left. No one came to clean up the tables, or get the dishes, it just looked like a messy kitchen in there…
No staff came around to clean tables, say a friendly hello or ask how the food was, the whole time we were there, and we were there for a good hour, I saw one staff member and that was the lady that took our order and delivered our food to our table.
For a place that says “I truly believe in only serving quality, fresh and honest food and that's what you'll get at Trotters Cafe” on their website, they should be ashamed. Absolutely disgusting, vile and a waste of $60. Stay away, or risk becoming good friends with your...
Read moreCalled in for breakfast with family and we didn't have a good experience. Big breakfast had canned mushrooms, black pudding was charred and eggs were like rubber. My husband ate 20% of it. Pancakes was the best meal nice fluffy pancakes but bacon was burnt and shattered when tapped against plate. Vegeterian breakfast also tasteless ordered scrambled eggs ended up with hard poached eggs i ate 40% of the meal. One lady kept yelling at the young staff we found it painful to listen to constant barking at them was really rude. We thanked our waitress she was absolutely lovely best part of the meal. BTW enquired how much for 1 extra egg its $6 for 1 egg was horrified. Girl serving had to take our order 3 times as she just didnt get it then watched her do the same to another couple. I gave 2 stars for our lovely waitress a older lady with awesome ppl skills. We spent nearly $90 and left most of the meals and went to Boost for smoothies. Our experience wasnt...
Read moreTime up my sleeve today, so I had my first sit down Breakfast here. Previously it had just been takeaway Sausage Rolls. Highly recommended, just so you know. At 9am, they weren't too busy, so a table indoors was easy to get. Aside from the large range of set meals, you can customise what you get. So a simple Bacon & Eggs and a Mug of Tea, $21. Pretty good value these days. I'm disappointed you can't get a pot of Tea, but I'm Old Fashioned about that. The plate arrived and it was pretty decent. The Bacon wasn't crispy, which I hadn't specified. So I guess they just cooked to it's normal standard. The Scrambled Eggs were a good portion and though I personally would have preferred them a bit tighter, they were as Good as I've had in years. Overall, not bad....
