Firstly, I would just like to preface that everyone else working there was AMAZING.
Me and my partner had ordered a toasted marshmallow soft serve, and we were served a milkshake. So we queried with the female staff member, who let us know that we did in fact get served a milkshake. So we showed her the receipt for a soft serve. She was very kind and took it back to the kitchen. Soon after, the guy who first served us the milkshake came back out. He cleared a half empty beer glass from another person's table and brought it to ours. He took the kitchen ticket out and said "whats the problem here??" to which I replied that we ordered a soft serve, but got a milkshake. He then started pointing at the ticket very angrily and saying "we got the order for a milkshake though????" So I showed him the receipt for the soft serve. He then said "okay yeah whatever", and took the milkshake back to the kitchen (leaving the half empty beer glass on our table).
Just for some context: The toasted marshmallow soft serve is supposed to come in a pyrex measuring cup
A couple of minutes later, he brought out a paper cup, with the EXACT same topping as the milkshake he previously brought out. It was melting all over the cup, and he slammed it down onto the table and went "here ya go."
Ignoring the melted mess, I was still going to eat it, but I realised that the top was just whipped cream, which the soft serve does not have, so we think that they probably just scooped the top off the milkshake and placed it into a paper cup.
We then brought it to the manager, who also assured us that it was cream, and that it was not supposed to look like that.
Overall, we were really happy with the service that we received from the other staff members and the manager, but boy oh boy did that one server ruin our night, and our dessert. :(
Good wings and burgers though! Always...
Read moreRude service and terrible food! My colleague was just placing an order as I walked in, but seeing that there was a queue of people waiting, I did the sensible thing and went to stand by the bar at - what seemed to be - the "tail-end of the line". The place was busy being peak hour just before 1pm but there was just one person behind the bar serving everyone. After a long wait of everyone before me getting served, the guy behind the bar skipped me and served a big bloke who was standing behind me. I had noticed that the big bloke behind me was on the same table as the person before me, so I decided to let it slide. Then the rude guy behind the bar didn't even look my way and walked past me to the other end of the bar. At this point, I called him out to advise him that I was actually in line before the bloke he'd just served, but he merely stopped and turned around to look at me with a so-what look on his face then continued to walk to the other end to serve another big bloke. Then another guy came behind the bar to serve as well but he served someone else as he pleased when, again, I'd been standing there waiting patiently for my turn before everyone else standingby the bar. When the rude guy'd finished serving the other bloke, he finally came to serve me with a simple "Sorry (not sorry), what can I get for you?" Not only did my order come late after my colleague's burger went all cold, but the chicken bites were so salty that they were stinging my tongue with every bite. This wasn't the first time I'd been here, and I've had much better service and food before, but I shall not be returning after today's appalling experience. If you're short staffed during peak hour, get more staff on the roster as it was blatantly obvious from the staff's expressions and gestures that they were tired and would rather...
Read moreWe thought we would go out for a quick Thursday night meal. We had our two year old thinking that if we ordered at 6, we would be home by 7 to have her in bed. Almost an hour after we ordered our food still hadn’t arrived. Staff would walk past over and over but not one questioned why we had a number on our table for that long. We ordered wings and chips, not exactly low and slow food. When we flagged them down after almost an hour, we were told that the ticket got lost. Really? 2018 and information can’t get transferred from the bar to 2 metres behind them to the kitchen? I can understand things go wrong in a restaurant/kitchen but it’s how you deal with the situation that will determine how the customers leave. We were offered an apology and vouchers. If you’re going to offer vouchers as compensation, DELIVER THEM. Even an offer of a drink would have been sufficient as I had to buy four to keep me entertained for the wait. Our quick dinner turned out being a 2 hour dinner with an irate child by the end of it. I’ve been to Varsity Nedlands many times and it’s far...
