Disclaimer: This review comes from someone who grew up in a Chinese-influenced country (Taiwan), so preferences may be slightly influenced by my background.
The short and straightforward review is simple, food is absolutely amazing, services and dining environment however, do have space to improve.
The following will be the detailed context as to why I believe this place is still worth your visit, despite its questionable overall ratings on Google.
Food: What you order will likely determine the outcome of your dining experience. Here is why. As the owner of the restaurant is not a native English speaker, they were not able to perfectly capture the essence of their restaurant in their English-translated name. Yang’s dumping specializes not in all dumplings, but rather in grilled, fried, and dry steamed dumplings. Meaning if you were to order mostly soupy items from the menu, there is a likelihood you would not be able to find full satisfaction in your meal. If you are the type to enjoy soupy foods, personally, I would recommend ordering one of their beef noodles, which they do an excellent job making (Yes, their beef noodles are an exception). Pair that with one to two plates/boxes of the aforementioned grilled, fried, dry steamed dumplings (you can find most of them on the first two pages of their menu), and you should find yourself walking out the place with a smile on your face. If you are feeling particularly courageous, trying some of their fried sides might surprise you with a new favorite. Their Golden Fried Wonton is one that I quite frequently order.
Service: Yang’s “inadequate” service is possibly why their ratings have suffered so far. However, this misunderstanding may be a result of their employees struggling with the language barrier between them and some of their customers. Before you click off and leave thinking ordering in English is impossible though, I have always ordered in English at Yang’s, as I am always accompanied by non-Chinese speakers. And I have never experienced any difficulty in ordering at the counter (granted, I have an American accent which the employees may be more used to when they lived in China). As long as you order slightly slower, there should be nothing stopping you from getting some of the most authentic Chinese dumplings in all of Perth. In addition to ordering, some customers may find their customer service a bit lacking. There is no excuse to that, as Yang’s should reasonably accommodate to the Australian standard of dining service. If warm and welcoming services is what you are looking for, Yang’s might not be for you. But if you are looking for an authentic Chinese meal/dining experience, Yang’s is the place to go.
The place truly deserves a bit more recognition in my opinion, and it would be a tragic loss for those who enjoy or are interested in Chinese cuisine. I hope this...

And the braised pork is totally burned!! It’s all black outside and tastes bitter and weird!!🤮🤮
Either the service or foods are very poor!! Not recommend at all! Avoid it!! 👎👎👎👎👎 ————————————————— To reply the owner
It just happened today about 6pm. If there’s CCTV in your shop near the till you could see I pointed and ordered the spicy pork intestine which costs $8 but your staff gave and charged me the spicy pork intestine noddles which costs $14. When I collected my foods and I found it was wrong right beside the door so I went back straightaway and told the same staff who put my order. However he told me it already made so we can’t not change it 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️
We had a family event today so didn’t want waste time on arguing that’s the reason I left. And the braised pork if you check the photo I added and you can see it is all black and dry outside!! It need to be cooked not burned!! I’m a fan of braised pork and I cook it myself lots time. It should be juicy, flavoured with beautiful brown gravy! Definitely not dry,...
Read morenew review: still holds up well after all these years. shanghai xiaolongbao is still as great and tasty as ever, pork buns will still be the hottest so be careful. good vinegar and soy sauce to go with.
dan dan noodles are very flavorful and saucy, and decently peanutty. may be overwhelming eating too much though, so sharing is another option. also got the peking bean paste pork mince dry noodle (nice name), which was nice as well. lighter flavor but stil enjoyable. the spring onion pancake was nicely crispy.
still fond of this place and will absolutely be back for more.
(OLDDD(er) review) I overall enjoy eating here. The dumplings taste nice, but the pork and vegetable ones taste as if they were 99% veg and 1% pork. Flavor imbalance I'm not exactly pleased with.
The soup noodles are alright, but their meatballs are very salty. BBQ pork noodles don’t feel too authentic but are okay.
I come here often. Good service of...
