Long term customer, especially at the Waterford location, and have in the past enjoyed drinks and meals there. The past 3 visits for a sit down breakfast or lunch have been pleasant enough, they have not been value for money. This morning I ordered the vegetarian Eggs Bennie. I paid $17. And what I received was two poached eggs, on a small amount of wilted spinach, toast (not sourdough), topped with hollandaise (see pic). And although it was pleaseant to eat, except the bread had gone soggy from the wilted spinach, it certainly was NOT worth the $17 paid. This price did not include a drink of any kind, in case anyone asks. So I looked on their webpage, and the Eggs Bennie looks a whole lot better. And then scrolled through their old Insta posts they made (pics included). Back when meals were satisfying and worth the $$. I really hope the team at Jamaica Blue HQ, take a long hard look at their pricing, quality...
Read moreWe went for Sunday breakfast at Jamaica Blue cafe, and firstly ordered a dirty ice chai latte which had way too much cinnamon, it was impossible to drink the last bit as it was so concentrated by the end. However the biggest let down was the coconut berry smoothie; it was not cold at all, which is expected for a smoothie and tasted very lemony and lemon wasn't even in the ingredients list. Not only was it not tasty and room temp, they charge 8.50 for this and serve it in a super small cup?! Along with the drinks the food such as the pulled pork and pea pie was quite good, but the avocado smash sandwich with maple bacon was very average, the bread was too thick, the bacon wasn't crispy, and the avocado with onion and tomato tasted like Mexican salsa. Overall I was unsatisfied, but the service was exceptional, I just hoped the food...
Read moreI ordered a Haloumi and Avocado wrap this morning from this establishment. Firstly, to my surprise the wrap cost a whopping $16.50!!! Secondly, I ordered as a takeaway. It was provided to me in a flimsy paper lunch bag, no napkins inside. By the time I went to eat it, the bag ripped from the soggy sap inside, there was not a napkin to avoid spillages etc. As someone who eats on the go, 99% of the time a napkin or two are placed in the bag. The bags are mostly either double packed or the item is in a sustainable tray within the paper bag. For $16.50, at least one napkin would have sufficed. It didn't even taste nice, I threw the damn thing out as the sogginess got the better of my...
