We came in Saturday morning and it was not even that busy however all the dishes came out separately with a long gap between them . I’m pretty sure they served my food to another table order after me so I had to wait for my wrap at least 30 mins . When we asked if the food coming they just said yeah it’s coming with no proper time estimate. Very disappointed with the service
Edit: I wasn’t initially going to address this further, but after seeing how you, as the owner, responded to customer feedback, I felt compelled to update my review. On the day of my visit, I didn’t end up receive my wrap . Despite asking the waitress multiple times, she assured me it was coming. After waiting over 40 minutes, I checked again and was told "five more minutes." However, when that time passed, I was informed that my wrap had been mistakenly served to another table. By then, my partner had finished his meal, and I had been waiting for more than 45 minutes for a simple wrap. Frustrated, I decided not to wait any longer.
This isn’t an issue of patience, as you suggested. Waiting 45 minutes for a basic dish is unreasonable, and your response that we were not being "generous and understanding" was, frankly, dismissive.
Additionally, I’d like to mention that the Benny you thanked for taking a photo of—your staff also served it to the wrong table. I had to get up and inform her that it belonged to us, otherwise, I’m certain we would have never received it.
I understand times are tough, but the way you responded to feedback needs to improve. If things don’t change, it will only get more difficult for your business. On top of that, one of your staff members, the Vietnamese girl without glasses, was particularly rude when we inquired about the wait. Her response, "as you can see, there’s a queue" and "you ordered that later, you’ll get it later," came across as passive-aggressive and dismissive of customers. Is that really an appropriate way to handle customer inquiries?
I hope you take this feedback seriously and consider how it may affect future interactions with...
Read moreStayed in Wollongong overnight for a conference with my family and wanted to eat breakfast before we drove back home. Found this little gem on Google. Curious at their 4.9 star rating. Called the cafe 45min before we were due to check out and they were super accommodating for our group of 10 + baby on a Sunday!
Was seated in private corner. Food came out fresh and aromatic. I ordered the Mushroom stack with a side of chorizo. The half cut chorizo was a bit steep for $5 but the taste with the mushroom stack was delicious!! I enjoyed. Every. Bite 🧡 Girls ordered pancakes & hubby ordered a big breakfast. Everyone was happy with their food and beverages.
Service was friendly and lovely.
Toilet had a change table which was perfect! Small critic, they need someone to keep an eye on replenishing toilet paper and hand soap.
Otherwise - comfortable and enjoyable experience at...
Read moreI was in a hurry to get back to Newcastle and had some business to do when I got there , I was unfamiliar with Wollongong and unsure where to go for breakfast. After settling on Cafe Hashtag and placing my order for a mug of flat white and Big Breakfast which is my typical choice I was told I had to wait 25 minutes I really had no choice so I decided to grab a paper and wait for my coffee before the Breakfast arrived however the coffee was served only minutes before the Breakfast which left a bitter taste in my mouth although that could have been the green beans and burnt milk, the food was beautifully cooked which was the only consolation to this whole experience and not an experience i can say I have had in Newcastle, Canberra, Brisbane, Adelaide, Hobart, Launceston, St Kilda, or Even Manila or Kuala Lumpur or Indonesia Hashtag...
