D'amato's Family Restaurant — Restaurant in Wollongong City Council

Unfortunately my first experience ordering a delivery from this restaurant resulted in food poisoning. My delivery was set for an hour wait but the delivery wasn't made as the driver couldn't use basic skills in locating my address so i was left waiting for over two and a half hours. At this point i realised that another worker from the restaurant had been attempting to contact me via phone calls an email and through the Facebook app messenger concerning my delivery. I called back the restaurant employe that had been contacting me and he told me that i was in luck he had my pizza safe and sound with him in his car while driving home from the restaurant although the pizza was obviously completely cold at this point. The restaurant employe offered to deliver my cold pizza i accepted and he turned up to my door relatively quickly he apologised franticly and made it known that my order was the original delivery drivers first delivery with there restaurant so understandably i gave them the benefit of the doubt and took him for his word and accepted the apology. He insisted that i heat up my pizza in the microwave and told me that i would have some kind of coupon for a free pizza with there restaurant emailed to my email address it has now been a week and i have had no form of coupon emailed to me for compensation purposes. Fairly disappointing outcome considering all the reviews online for this restaurant although i do acknowledge that if i had checked my emails or checked my phone for any calls i could of had my order sooner and avoided...

Twice now, I have had the absolute pleasure of dining at D’Amatos Family Restaurant in Unanderra and have I have been blown away by the outstanding service, the food, the speed at which the meals have been delivered to the table, the personal attention received from the owner and the fact that the food is so freshly cooked and piping hot when it hits the table. If you judged a book by its cover, some may overlook this restaurant from the outside as just another pizza joint with relatively non-fancy décor but don’t be fooled……this is a full blown Italian restaurant with Gourmet pizzas, pastas and many other delicious items on the menu. And wait for it…..the food is seasoned which is the absolute bonus. So many restaurants that I have eaten in disappoint me as they seem afraid to season anything being worried about people’s health issues, which only leaves me reaching for the salt and pepper. The garlic bread I had last night, has real garlic on it and lots of it. Some garlic breads you get in restaurants are very lack lustre with just a simple smear of garlic butter in the middle and not much garlic at that. Not with D’Amatos – very yummy and moreish. Their Arancini Balls and Olive Chutney are the real deal and they are to die for – as is their Cheese and Spinach Cannelloni. I am not going to say anymore as you just have to check it out for yourselves. This will become a new favourite restaurant for me and home...

First time experiencing this restaurant , prompt table service ! And quick meals Dined in with a friend , enjoyed a beautiful bottle of moscato, started with garlic bread , my friend loved ( I felt it tasted as if it had been left uncovered in the freezer) but I ate it regardless because it was seasoned perfectly ! I had the special primevera fettuccine and it was lovely , I loved that it wasn’t too rich , I did enquire to change the pasta to gnocchi, and I was assured the dish served as is was best. And I admit it was good, but I DID want gnocchi. I would have liked the flexibility of ordering it the way I wanted my meal. My friend ordered the chicken princess and loved it! And we ordered a small vegetarian pizza! Which was tasty , although we only shared one slice before asking for the take away containers because wow ! The potions are filling! The atmosphere was nice and we have plans to spend more meals with our families in tow. Our bill was $80 and it felt like an appropriate total . The staff are friendly and quick to clear plates on there way. Through , shows they are competent and I like that in my dining experience. Good job guys !...
