We dined in on Saturday night 20/5/2023. Ordered which took for ever. In short we asked for our bill there was 4 of us and noticed that the total was incorrect. We pointed this out to the waitress and she said he [ the boss ] who is in the kitchen said she has to charge for every little thing asked. Now how about this for deceit and fraud - me and my mate asked for the Marinara with some extra sauce as old mate makes it a bit dry. Also asked for parmesan cheese and we got a tea spoon amount in a thimble. We noticed that the dishes are reduced in size and ingredients but didn't make a fuss until we asked for the bill. The amount was wrong and when pointed out to the waitress that the menu prices shown on the bill and different to the menu but increased and as commented above she is told to charge and old mate checks the dockets at the end of the night. So, we were charged extra $2 each on the docket for the marinara sauce, $3 for the tea spoon of parmesan, extra for our wives chicken marsala $2 extra each etc so the excuses came only after they were challenged such as not had time to get new menus, the boss directed me to charge for everything and when we get home also noticed bill was over by $8 so very convenient. This is so poor to regular customers and we will never return and tell as many people...
Read moreThis place is a hidden gem! On entry, the traditional pizza oven is the feature of the kitchen area, the chef expertly crafting pizza, and baking them to perfection. No crappy tunnel oven in this place, it's a brick beauty!
The seating area is comfortable, and softly lit, with little touches of Italy decorating the walls.
The hostess is as friendly as they get, and is genuinely interested in making your evening as pleasant as possible. Drink orders are taken (BYO only), offering the standard selection of soft drinks. The drinks are swifty bought to the table.
The menu is expansive, but not excessively so, offering a good selection of traditional Italian dishes. Entrees include garlic pizza and bread, but I loved the mushroom arancini balls, and was thrilled with the quality of the mediterranean prawn hotpot.
For mains, a good variety of chicken, veal, seafood, and pasta dishes are available, and I feel that the bosciola is possibly the best I have had in years. The Bolognese is also exceptional.
With the generous size of the portions, I haven't yet had the capacity to sample the dessert menu, but the dishes look very tempting.
It's not an expensive night out either, as the food is great...
Read moreDon't miss out on an amazing Italian meal!! I'm super fussy with food quality & love flavour - both are delivered on each plate. We've worked our way through majority of the menu and can't fault a thing!
My top picks: Arancini Balls, Mediterranean Prawns (these are the best by far!!), Chorizo Fettucini, Roasted Pumpkin Salad and the Smoked Salmon Linguine.
Prices are amazing and quality supreme. Gamibos is far better than the Italian I've had On the Rocks and in Darling Harbour. I can safely guarantee you won't be disappointed. Super friendly staff too.
Haven't eaten in the restaurant as we're up here after surgery at Wollongong but the take away service is fast, nothing is left out of the order and it's all packed well so that you're opening a meal that actually looks appealing.
My compliments to the chef and the Gambino family - your food is incomparable!! So glad we stumbled across your restaurant while on holidays, simply THE BEST 🤩
