Unfortunately my family and I have been left with no choice but to leave a negative review for Madam Choi. We had organised a lovely weekend away and were excited to try the wonderful food advertised, especially after reading such positive reviews. My husband called on Saturday afternoon to book for that evening, however there was an automated message that said staff were busy and to try again later. Not wanting to lose the spot, my husband decided to book online instead. He received an email confirmation through 'The Fork' that said everything had been confirmed for 6pm that evening.
We arrived at 5:50pm and explained to the young boy behind the desk that we were a bit early, but had a reservation for 6pm for 3 people. The boy looked through the book and said we were not on the list. My husband explained that we had booked online and proceeded to show him the confirmation email. We told the waiter that it was booked through 'The Fork'. He had absolutely no idea what we were talking about and had no clue about this booking system. My husband asked if he checked the Fork for bookings, and he was lost for words as it was obvious he had no idea what that was.
In all fairness, he did offer to move some tables around to fit us in, but he said there was a booking at 6:30pm , so we'd have to sit, order, eat and be out in less than 30 mins which was absolutely ridiculous.
My review is to make Madam Choi aware that they are registered to take bookings through the Fork, so it is very unprofessional when it is not checked, not to mention staff being unaware of this.
We took our business further down the road to Old Siam which were very accommodating and had...

Whether you live nearby or travel to Stanwell Park, Sea Cliff Bridge, Wollongong, or Kiama, this is the go-to place to eat if you are into Asian cuisine. Even if you haven’t had much experience of the Asian cuisine, this place is still worth a try as it offers also the fusion between Western and Chinese food. Simply ask the friendly staff who will then recommend the food that best suits your taste.
What’s more is the fusion between the Eastern and Western culture. Just as its geographical location signifies, the restaurant connects not only the serene and scenic South Coast of NSW and the international cosmopolitan metropolis of Sydney, but also the friendly local community with visitors the world over. In short, the restaurant offers a window showcasing a shining example of the inclusive Australian culture that welcomes not only friends from afar but also, just as how it connects NSW’s South with the North, embraces cuisines from the East...

You have to try the San Choy Bow (minced chicken in lettuce wrap) to kick things off—it’s unreal. And the Honey Soy Chicken, it’s the best you’ll find anywhere around Wollongong or Thirroul, no question. The mains were super fresh and packed with flavor too.
The vibe of the place is so welcoming, and the location is perfect. It’s just a quick stroll from the beach and Thirroul station, so it’s ideal for grabbing a bite after a swim in summer. Big shoutout to Maria for being such a lovely host—she made the night even better.
10/10 food, service, and location. Can’t wait to head back and try more of the menu....
