It’s hard to put into words how much McDonald’s has evolved over the last 50 or so years in Australia. McDonald’s Figtree truly epitomises the depths to which this once half decent chain has sunk. The bland interior, filthy tables and literal shit stains in the men’s urinal should have been enough to turn me away from this dump on a Wed night. But… for some reason I decided to give it a chance, even though it’s my local and I should know better. I ordered the ‘Mega meal’ which for nearly $18 you’d think would be ok, you’d also expect that being time honoured staples in the maccas line-up that a Big Mac, 3 nuggets and a cheeseburger should have been a fairly quick and easy combo to make. I was wrong, very wrong. I can’t comprehend how the teenager in the kitchen functions in every day life, I can’t tell if their distinct lack of urgency stems from pure laziness or their inability to form independent thoughts but with 1 person waiting in front of me it shouldn’t be a 10 min wait to get my order. McDonald’s really should cover up that part of the kitchen, having this on display does literally nothing to promote your image. Yet, perhaps however I was too quick to judge, maybe the extra time wasn’t spent allowing my food to go cold but instead dedicated to constructing the perfect burger in an attempt to actually keep customers coming back. Wrong again, apparently the staff here really can’t be arsed putting onion on cheeseburgers anymore, they have them there, I think it’s just too difficult. Getting the meat, cheese and lettuce actually on my big mac bun was also a hard ask with the artist taking a more surrealistic approach. All topped off with 3 hard dry nuggets and half filled box of fries. I won’t be back for a long time, the unanderra maccas is slightly better. If you really need to eat it, it’s worth driving 5 more minutes. Alternatively the burgers actually are better at...
Read moreWe visited Figtree McDonalds on Wednesday 12th April and was appalled at the behavior of staff. We were on a business trip and stopped in to have a coffee, sit down and check emails etc.
We seen vacant tables inside the restaurant and when we went to sit a young woman threw a staff jacket on the table and said "we're having training". No explanation, no respect.
It would have been more appropriate to explain to us that someone was using the table rather than throw a jacket on there like a school yard bully. The behavior was disgusting, no manners and that behaviour was coming from a member of staff!! Even a fellow staff member was embarrassed and the look on their face was to say 'did she just do what I seen her do'.
After having our meeting we went inside to use the bathrooms and upon leaving that very same staff member was shouting and abusing an elderly woman who was ambulating around with a four-wheel walker. Who on earth when in uniform on duty be abusing some of our most vulnerable members of community? Her voice was that loud even other customers were looking to see what the issue was. Not only that, not one other staff member intervened and pulled her up on her behaviour. That young woman acted liked someone higher up in management was one of her parents. She was acting like she could get away with whatever she wanted, like she owned the place.
Any customer would be better off spending their money across the road at Figtree Grove Shopping Centre.
We will not be back here to this McDonalds and we will strongly encourage our staff to spend their money elsewhere. From the perspective of a someone involved in the aged & disability care services sector, that display of unprofessionalism is atrocious and serves as a warning to McDonalds that if your staff behave like that it results in lost of income, something I'm sure you don't...
Read moreI ordered the $5.95 lunch deal which is currently running. The young lady on drive thru politely told me I needed a code from the app to order that. Now I have previously ordered this deal without the app but I decided to not bother and I ordered a burger instead. When I got to the window she offered to ask if it was possible to get the $5.95 deal so I said great, thanks. Another person came and said no I can't get that without the app. Now she was quite rude, almost aggressive in her tone towards me so I told her I had got this deal previously at which point she told me I was a liar as it isn't possible. I asked for her name but she refused to give it and just told me she was the manager and I needed to "get out of her drive thru" or she would call the police. At this point I was completely outraged and told her sure go ahead and call the police over a $5.95 meal deal. So she did. At this point a customer waiting in drive thru behind me came up to see what was going on. I told her and she said yes the Figtree staff are very rude and unhelpful and I would get the deal at the next MacDonalds down the road at Unanderra. I saw this was holding up the entire drive thru so I decided to leave. I was going the other way away from Unanderra but I did stop at the Engadine MacDonalds where I ordered the same deal and was served immediately with no app and no issues. SO this woman at Figtree was not only rude and aggressive, she also didn't know what she was doing and subsequently ruined my day with a stressful situation and ruined several other customers meals by holding up the drive thru when she so easily could have processed the order just like the staff at Engadine did. Very...
