Settlers Cafe — Restaurant in York

First of all I went castle hotel for a pizza but got dreadful service and decided they didn’t deserve my money so went to Settler cafe and ordered a half chicken satay and half vegetarian pizza and omg it was so so good and Paul the owner even bought my pizza out to my car Talk about excellent customer service so glad I paid my money to Paul and settlers cafe and not Castle hotel ( Their website is incorrect it does not open at 5 but 6 instead so i said ok no worries I will order and pay now and come back to pick up when it’s ready, he said no you will have to come back at 6 and order - hang on what and better question, WHY? You don’t deserve my money, bye bye) so glad I ordered from settlers cafe instead they couldn’t have been more wonderful and god that pizza was so so...

We drove around 10mins to reach this quiet little town and needed to pack dinner back to our accommodation for our kiddos and older folks. We arrived around 4pm plus and realised the pizza wont be ready for sale till 5pm so we had no choice but to choose other items from the menu. It was quite extensive and we settled on fish and chips and nuggets with chips as well for takeaway. By the time we could eat the takeaway meal at our accommodation, the food had turned cold but the fish and chips still tasted delicious! Would recommend this place for a no frills meal. 10% Surcharge for public holidays... No one like paying extra / getting ripped off. I have no idea why these establishments feel this is the way to go, I would say they lose more business than the 10% extra they charge. Your customers support you every other day of the year... Either don't open or open and take a hit but don't put your prices up... There are heaps of customers like me that will just boycott theses places... Vote with your feet. There's plenty of other...
