Guesthouse ‘Dorfkrug’ — Restaurant in Fulpmes

We wanted to have a nice meal, but it was truly mortifying. Between sitting at our table and any waiter serving us food there was an hour of waiting. The food was great, as well as the ambiance, but the staff was snappy and rude and only spoke German despite seeing us clearly struggle with the language (being so close to the italian border, I was truly expecting them to at least speak a word of English, but it didn't seem to be the case). After dinner, spent with the little kids at the table next to ours staring at our plates because that had been waiting far too long, we had the terrible idea of ordering an espresso and dessert. The waiter told us there were no desserts, despite there being a whole display case full if various cakes and pastries at the entrance. So, no dessert for us. We never even got to see that coffee, too, because twenty minutes later we had truly had enough of waiting and tried multiple times to get the attention of a waiter to let us pay and go our merry way. The price was high and the overall experience was frustrating and annoying, mostly because we felt ignored by the waiters. I would only recommend if your German level is B1 or higher, if you have unlimited time to have dinner and lots...

There are much much better restaurant choices within 50 metres walk. Nice looking from outside, but the food quality was well below nearby restaurants we tried here before. The food quality (tried 4 dishes) were all really below average ; greasy and low value ingredients. The service was pushy and poor; they insisted on paying extra €2.50 for tap water, allegedly customary in Tirol, (which is not true!), and billed for 3 beers (when only 2 had been served). Not recommended!

Addendum to the reply: We had only one Jag of Water (not 2!); might be it was a simple mistake to overcharge, but it should not happen on two beverage items. In regards to the quality of food, I am sorry, our family was in united agreement that none of the dishes was of anticipated quality and certainly not value for the money. We won’t come back and...

The restaurant is beautiful decorated, the atmosphere here is superb and relaxing. Food is excellent and I am sure is one of the very best ...the presentation of each plate is done with great dedication. Thank you for a great service and the great surprise for my birthday. A restaurant everyone should try while in Fulpmes, Stubaital ....hopefully we will be back next year.. best regards to all Mariella and Martin...
