Gourmetrestaurant Salnerhof — Restaurant in Ischgl

We ate at the restaurant with a group of 13 friends and while the food was very good.

I was very disappointed to have the waitress (Marie I think) come up as we started eating our main course and ask if we would like to order a dessert as if we did we needed to order now.

She apologised for asking us while we were eating our mains and I think she was a little embarrassed about the situation, We asked her to give us five minutes, She said okay but when she came back she said we could no longer order a dessert because the chef had gone home.

Our starters had been delayed because THEY had dropped a plate of Scallops but that should not have made any difference, I have never been asked to order a dessert while I have been eating my main course, It was not a last minute booking and they told us they had set dinning times so we had to sit down at 20.30 if that is the case they should ensure the chef stays until after desserts are served.

Our hotel had recommended the restaurant, But they were very surprised about the events of our evening so maybe they will not be so quick to recommend them next time.

Yes the food was good but do not go there if you want three courses, We will definitely not be...

edit below We booked a table here for 21.30. When we arrived we were seated, got to order drinks and a couple of minutes later the waiter came and asked us if we only could order main courses because the chef didn't want to make starters. And we also had only 5 minutes to do so which we were fine with. 2 minutes later he came back and said the chef didn't want to make any food. Very rude service and to be honest super disrespectful. You accepted the booking for this time and treat your customers like this? We'll see if we will give them another chance.

edit We decided to go back here to give them a new chance. So this review reflects both experiences.. Service gets 2 stars due to our first experience. With that said, our waiter was pretty skilled with keeping track of what everyone was drinking but a bit pushy on ordering more / expensive things. Atmosphere was good except it felt like a sauna in the end. Food was actually very good. I had the 48h ox cheek and my friend had fish with risotto. That dish was spot on...

We’ve been coming here for years, because the food is absolutely delicious. But tonight it was disappointing. We had our reservation at 20:30 and after 1 hour our waiter told us something had gone wrong in the kitchen and he had to retake our order. So we had to wait for our food quite a bit, but hey, this can happen. After we had our mains we were ready to order desserts but our waiter told us the kitchen had already closed. This was at 22:15 and he had not told us before what time we had to order desserts for. We were a bit let down by this but there was nothing we could do about it. Only to see another table get desserts 15 minutes after this?! Now we were getting quite annoyed and their explantation was that it was included in their fondue dinner??...
