Well I gave it a 2⭐️ because this is not Indian cooking unfortunately neither authentic Afghanistan cooking 😅 and for the place well 3⭐️. Service was just so so and I didn’t find the lady neither the man was friendly who took our orders.
It’s basically a fusion Afganishan, Thai because too much coconut milk that made my curry so sweet and Indian. I know, it sounds strange but trust me, I’m an Indian so I know exactly how Indian food should taste 😍
Plus, You’ll not get authentic Afghan food such as Aushak, Borani, Bolani, Kabuli but instead Indian but not authentic Indian 😅
If you’re familiar with Indian food, Palak paneer and all Indian curry they all have different colour with taste that comes along. Here all the curries looks a like and taste alike atleast for the ones we ordered: Palak Paneer, Vege Curry, Chicken Curry. See pictures.
The Afghan bread was good but it gets dried up pretty quick because they do not place them in a basket and cover with damp towel to keep the bread moist.
My vege curry tastes almost like a Thai curry because there were so much of coconut milk though I specifically asked for authentic spicy 🌶️ and 1 piece of broccoli and all the rest was paprika…
I asked for chilli by the side and I thought I’d get authentic Afghan spicy paste but all I got was chilli powder 😅
My European friends enjoyed the meal but not me. I’ll not come again because I’d rather go to an authentic Indian restaurant for...
Read moreTaj Mahal in Feldkirch is my absolute favorite restaurant. Anytime there’s something to celebrate, with my husband, friends, or when visitors from abroad come to see me, this is always the place I take them. Everyone leaves full and happy, never disappointed.
For me, the starters are a highlight. More than once I’ve simply made them my whole meal (they’re that good!). My all-time favorite is the Paneer Pakora, but honestly, everything from the starters to the mains is fantastic. On top of that, I love that there are plenty of naturally vegan options, which made it easy to bring my vegan friend along without worrying.
We’re long-time Stammgäste here, and it always feels like coming back to friends. If I had one tiny, very friendly wish: maybe some more adventurous dessert options (though by dessert we’re usually way too full anyway!).
Other than that, everything is simply perfect, delicious food, a welcoming atmosphere, and wonderful people. Taj Mahal has given us countless memorable evenings, and we’ll keep coming back...
Read moreAs an Afghani person, I can only say that the food was not what I expected. I ordered the mantu and it should be onions and beef, but it was only onions and so it was nog good and for the drinks i got Coca-Cola, but when i tasted it was mixed with water. I have tasted better food than this for less. The service was not really good, we asked for someone to help us with the menu because we can't read Germany and they didn't have an English version of the menu. But nobody came so we had pick something. but I think this is what the Australian people are used to pay a lot of money for a small piece of food. But you're not spending €20 - 30 for 1 persons, this is not true. We where with 4 person end didn't even order properly and had a...
