Ariston Hellenic — Restaurant in Vienna

We frequent this location often and have tried quite a few of the items on the menu. The appetizers and dishes are very good and tasty with a home made feeling and flavour. The service is impeccable and always attentive. The prices are good for the amount of food that is offered in each portion. We highly recommend it to our friends if they are looking for a good Greek Food experience.

The Choiatiki salad is large and split between two adults and a child. The dressing is excellent and very authentic tasting.

The Pita with garlic sauce is soft and warm while the sauce gives it just enough of a garlic flavour but not over powering.

The Kria Pikilia is well sized, the Tarama has a nice flavour, the Tzatziki is smooth/creamy and hints of garlic and cucumber, the Skordialia has a pleasant texture with a good garlic punch and the Eggplant spread is very flavourful.

The Meatballs are good to share, they come in a tomato base sauce, very flavourful and a great dish to dip the pita bread into.

The vegetarian Mousaka is great, nice layering of the different ingredients and a great sauce topping that does not over power the overall dish, again a good dish to split 4 ways if you want to do mezethes with...

My first family trip to Vienna was graced by Ariston Hellenic. It was one of the candidates suggested by web when we key-in “best Mediterranean cuisine in Vienna” in to web search engine, reading the review & scores it gained over the years, we played it safe to secure a reservation for a Saturday dinner. The reservation process via its Google platform was highly commendable, fast & reliable. So far our experiences with Mediterranean cuisine have been very pleasing & satisfying and the dinner at Ariston Hellenic just reconfirmed the standard. For 2 pax dinner, we shot for variety & quality from the ocean: Poseidon Platter was the obvious choice. We loved the bream & bass which were grilled to perfection with charred surface but retained juicy texture within the inner flesh. However I gave additional praises for the mussels & calamari rings… really taste great. Not to forget the serving staff Thanos, very courteous & caring. Went here for our New Year’s eve and our time here really made our New Year a memorable one. The food is so good and the staffs here are overly friendly. We got greeted from people who dont even serve us.

Food: We odered the Kreta which has a lot of food with 2 legit lamp chops (and tons of other meat) cooked to medium rare perfection. I also ordered the island plate for myself not expecting much since I thought it was just some deep fried calamari like what we usually have in America - barely any real calamari and very oily. Man oh man I couldnt be so wrong. IT’S SO GOOD. It’s REAL FRESH BIG JUICY calamari that you can taste the sweetness in the meat. Very little flour coating so that you can taste every chew of the meat. The batter outside is heaven. They actually season the coating. It’s so garlicky and not too salty. AND THE PRAWNS THAT CAME WITH IT omg thats probably the best thing of my meal. So tender, fresh and garlicky which I loveeee.
