Café Frog — Restaurant in Vienna

The FROG! Passed my times whilst commuting from Kaiserebersdorf direction Tram 71 and 11, slightly messy currently due to construction works... this line services one of the largest Grave yards in Europe, kms long with 4 entrances, stopping at eacht Tor 1,2,3,4 as well as all stations along the route to the Underground Station U3 (Simmering - Ottakring) ....

So outside the Simmering U3 Underground / above ground (Orange line) ... is very close... CAFE FROG! open till late, not large eating place, but cocktails, drinks - more bar-like venue, curbside appeal, attractively laid out and a friendly Waitron! Will meet some friends when I need a spot to relax, have a drink or 3 and then Stumble into the U3 headeded for inner City (or elsewhere) OR end that route and hit the Tram line 71 or 11 home, 2 stations before the END... Kaiserebersdorf.

FYI this is a route one could opt to use in the DIRECTION OF AIRPORT Schwechat region... BUT need to connect to another option from any if these abovementioned routes are used. Can't locate images now, will...

Good place if you want to start partying at 16.00h in the middle of the week with 2 or 3 other customers with loud music and eye straining lights. Don't call this thing a Café, it's an empty cocktailbar (and for a reason) The boss/manager should try to improve the customer experience instead of acting entitled. I had an okay cup of coffee served by the nice waitress. Soon as the two guys took charge they turned up the music and off the lights. My friend and I were the only ones around, when I claimed so and politely asked if they would turn back the lights until other customers come, he initially accepted until he was interrupted by the boss/manager. It's a shame, I really like frogs. And for Pete's sake wash the poor stuffed frog. The best thing was the puppy. Nevertheless not ever coming back. I won't be surprised to see the place shutting down...

Das Lokal am Froschplatz! Ein guter Ort, um mit Freunden oder Kollegen etwas zu trinken......und sein Geld aus dem Fenster rauszuwerfen.

Die Location an sich ist halbwegs akzeptabel. Es gibt einen Raucher- und einen Nichtraucherbereich, wobei sich die Nichtraucherbox im hinteren Quadranten versteckt.

Das Licht des Lokals ist am Abend stechend rot. Eine nervige Farbe, die nur noch durch zu laute, nicht wirklich gute Musik schlimmer werden könnte......moment....das ist genau der Fall! Das Lokal spielt eine derart schreckliche Musik ab. Natürlich kommt es immer auf die Kundschaft an. Man merkt jedoch, dass das Lokal auf die Generation ab 1990 ausgelegt ist. Und da passt nunmal kein "Fliegerlied-remix" mit 120dB dazu. Die Musik ist außerdem viel zu laut. Unangenehm für die Ohren und, wie oben gesagt, mit dem Roten Licht aggressiv machend.

Ein weiterer Dorn in meinem Auge: die Preise. Teilweise dezent überteuert, einiges auf der Karte sprengt jedoch jegliche Erwartung (siehe: Whiskey).

Was ist aber dann gut? Naja....die Getränke! Die Getränke sind erstaunlich gut. Das wäre der einzige Grund, um in das Café Frog zu gehen.

Das Lokal braucht einiges an Änderung. Für mich auf jeden Fall kein guter Ort zum chillen. Die Musik ist viel zu penetrant, das Licht ist schlecht und die Preise sind hoch. Aber die Drinks schmecken gut, weswegen ich nicht nur...
