As a happy customer of Gunay restaurant, I cannot recommend this place enough! The moment I walked in, I was welcomed by the friendly staff who showed me to my table. The interior of the restaurant was stunning, with traditional Turkish decor and warm lighting that created a cozy and inviting atmosphere.
When it came time to order, I was blown away by the extensive menu with so many delicious options to choose from. I decided to try the lamb kebab and it was cooked to perfection, with juicy and tender meat that was bursting with flavor. The portion size was also very generous, so I left feeling completely satisfied.
The service was excellent throughout the meal, with the staff always checking in to make sure everything was to my liking. I also appreciated how attentive they were to any special dietary requirements or preferences.
To top off the amazing meal, I tried their baklava for dessert and it was hands down the best I've ever had. The perfect balance of sweet and nutty flavors, with layers of flaky pastry that melted in my mouth.
Overall, my experience at Gunay restaurant was exceptional, from the delicious food to the welcoming staff and beautiful ambiance. I will definitely be returning to this restaurant and highly recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic Turkish...
Read moreI recently visited Günay in Vienna after hearing great things about Middle Eastern food in central Europe. The restaurant was spacious, and it's apparently even better known for its breakfast buffet. Here's what I tried for dinner: Lamb Chops: 9.3/10: It was grilled to perfect tenderness, with a great charred flavor, and lacked the typical gamey taste. The rice and vegetables, including tomato, were excellent complements. I highly recommend trying lamb in Europe as it is noticeably better than ones typically found in North America. Special Pida (Pita):8.8/10: Great pita with beef, cheese, and a variety of fresh ingredients. It felt a lot like eating a thin-crust pizza, but with an abundance of fresh flavors. The two dipping sauces added a great variety of taste to the dish. Mixed Platter: 9.3/10: While the mixed platter was similar to those at other places, the quality of the meat stood out. The chicken was perfectly grilled and tender, the steak surprisingly tender (unlike the dry, tough versions one often finds elsewhere), and the lamb/beef patties were flavorful and juicy, enhanced by added seasonings...
Read moreThe pide is so amazingly soft and fluffy and fresh, nice and balanced with a high quality salad. Assorted meat platter for one was also great; rice and bulgur pilaf are perfectly cooked and seasoned. Very spacious seating and artsy decor~ A favorite for us!
They also have an all you can eat Turkish breakfast buffet, with unlimited orange juice and Turkish tea for €13,90. The variety is pretty good, but the food is lukewarm, and the tea is self-serve (as a non-Turkish, I had no idea what I was doing, so the tea I made was undrinkable, very different from the delicious tea they bring you during regular service). The cakes and fruit slices were also a little dried out, possibly because it was slow during Ramadan. Overall, I will probably stick with their regular service as the food quality is...
