A Disappointing Dining Experience
I recently visited Abacus for dinner buffet with my family to celebrate an occassion with high hopes, but unfortunately, my experience fell short of expectations. Let me share my experience:
Food Taste: The quality of the food was notably below average. Dishes lacked flavor and leaving much to be desired.
Value for Money: Considering the price TK. 1200 Each 😌, the items on the buffet were not worth it. The food did not justify the cost, making it a poor value overall. Comparing to other buffet restaurant nearby.
Complimentary Drinks: Complimentary drinks were provided only once from a pet bottle, not from a fountain. The taste was reminiscent of diluted sugar water rather than a refreshing beverage. Whereas rest restaurant offer unlimited drinks.
Service: Among the staff, only one employee, a bearded tall gentleman with a friendly demeanor, stood out with his genuine smile and helpful attitude. Unfortunately, he was the exception rather than the norm.
Staff Professionalism: The rest of the staff displayed a lack of professionalism. Their service was inattentive and inefficient, further diminishing the overall dining experience.
Washroom Conditions: The washroom was in poor condition, with water leakage from the ceiling and behind the push shower, leaving it wet and unpleasant.
Atmosphere: The seating is well spaced, ensuring privacy without feeling isolated. I liked it.
Overall, Abacus did not meet the standards one would expect for the price. With improvements in food quality, introducing Live station service, professionalism, and facility maintenance, it might have potential, but as of now, it falls short. Please do needful, a request from a customer who spends his money on you.

Read moreThe venue offers decent service that meets expectations, coupled with a culinary experience that sits comfortably within reasonable standards. The setting is agreeable, kept in good condition, yet it lacks the intimate and snug atmosphere often sought after. At times, there are delays observed in replenishing the buffet dishes, an aspect that diminishes the overall impression left on patrons. Although the pricing tends to lean towards the higher end, the location holds an esteemed status for its perfect positioning.
Despite these varied facets, the visit remained enjoyable, with attendees having a wonderful time at the establishment. The service, while not exceptional, managed to fulfill the anticipated standards, offering a satisfactory level of attention and support to customers. The taste of the food falls into an acceptable category, not surpassing but also not falling below the anticipated quality. The environment, although lacking a cozy aura, presents a pleasant and well-maintained space for patrons to enjoy their time.
However, the delay in refilling buffet dishes disrupts the flow of the dining experience, causing a slight dent in an otherwise enjoyable visit. The higher pricing structure is somewhat offset by the advantage of the establishment's prime location, recognized for its ideal positioning in the area. Overall, despite these mixed features, the visit culminated in a positive experience, leaving guests with fond memories of their time spent...
Read moreI recently visited Abacus, Gulshan 1 for a birthday celebration and, unfortunately, the experience fell far below expectations. The buffet was underwhelming—limited in variety, lacking freshness, and overall poor in quality. Many items were served cold or left unreplenished, making it difficult for guests to enjoy a complete meal. The salad station remained untouched for long periods without restocking.
Service was noticeably inefficient. Basic requests like water or clearing used plates required repeated reminders, which became awkward and frustrating, especially in front of invited guests. Staff appeared disengaged and unresponsive throughout the event. Additionally, several food items promoted on the menu were either missing or not available for a second round. What was offered lacked flavor and presentation.
Accessibility is another concern—despite being located on the first floor, there is no elevator, which can be particularly inconvenient for elderly guests or those with mobility issues.
Given the price point and the promises made, the overall experience was disappointing. Poor food quality, inattentive service, and lack of basic hospitality make this place difficult to recommend. There are far better dining options in Dhaka offering better value, service, and...
