Hebaang is the first female-run mountain food restaurant. It is run by four sisters. Before the restaurant opened, Hebang had been taking online orders and delivering mountain food since 2016.
Among the dishes served in shiny containers at Hebang, there were various dishes made of duck, sand fish, and crab. There are broiler chickens. However, mountain wild roosters are also available. On rainy days, there are various dishes made with bamboo skewers. âBachchurimalaâ is famous for putting chicken meat inside the skewers.
Various mountain pithas are served with various dishes for lunch and dinner. Binni rice pitha, banana pitha are served hot. There are various fruit juices. There are three to four types of tea. Among them, tamarind tea, mint leaf tea, roselle tea are among them.
Bipli Chakma, director of Hebang, received the Sarbjaya Award for being a successful entrepreneur in 2021, the Goodwill Memorial Award for being a pioneering female entrepreneur from the 'Indigenous Women Network' on International Women's Day in 2020, and the Executor Award from the 'Bangladesh Organic Agriculture Network'.

Read moreAlthough I am a fan of their food, the quality I feel has been lackluster recently. I have been served cold rice with all cold items in two of my visits here. Food is unique, true, but not all of them feel fresh, which should be a signature in this sort of cuisine. The spice level varies a lot from day to day, I have been surprised with really hot to really mild vaji/vorta in different visits.
The service staff also seem a bit laid back, but very welcoming and warm. Even if the communication is unclear at times, the coziness makes up for it.
The portion-price ratio is not justified in my opinion. It is leaning towards the more expensive side for the type of good. It is worth a visit but not many revisits.
Good photo-op though. And nice seating...

We ordered 4 items but they served us extra dal as a complimentary. Seating capacity was limited and ambiance was very simple yet nicely decroted in a traditional way. In salad they served lemon and one type of cucumber which tasted sweet. Overall the food was delicious but little bit spicy.
We wanted to order some other dishes from their menu but all the items weren't available then. So try to communicate with them before going to the restaurant as well as let them know in advance what items you want to order.
