Cafe Sol Barbados( St Lawrence Gap) Visited on 8th July 24. They didn’t have any wings for starters so opted for the chicken tenders, which I don’t think is actually on the menu. We ordered a large with bbq sauce and they came quite quickly. They tasted ok but nothing special. Some of the bits were over cooked. One person ordered the coconut shrimp. They were huge but were over cooked and rubbery- not nice! For mains most of us ordered the flat-ironed sizzlers - beef. This was the toughest beef I had ever eaten & the rice was like bullets. They could definitely knock out some teeth. The refried beans. What can I say but… yuck!! I spoke to the waitress as all 4 of us were unable to eat it & left all of it on our plates. The waitress said “oh no” smiled and walked off. One person had the fajitas & ate it as she was starving but said it didn’t have much taste. One person had the enchiladas & only ate half of one before eating her friend’s fish n chips. One person had the fish n chips from the gringo menu. The fish was delicious! It was lovely and flaky. Sort of what you get in England from the fish and chip shop. It was a pleasant change from all the steak fish we had been eating on the island. The cocktails were the best thing & I would definitely return to this restaurant for drinks before going to a proper restaurant. I did love all the staff singing happy birthday to the customers whose birthdays it was. It was cute. Cafe Sol is not worth all the hype and I do not know how it has received such a good rating. I will NEVER go there to eat again. Drinks…yes! There was no reduction on our bill. We just paid & left.

Aesthetics wise it’s a nice place with good music. The Food was poor I haven’t been this disappointed in a long time, for starters I had cheesy nachos, not with “real” cheese but cheese sauce that was sad, just so sad. I then had the sizzling Fajita, for my main, with the upgrade version which gets you shrimp, steak and chicken. The lack of seasoning is real, the highlight of the whole dish was the sizzle when they bring it out to you in a hot pan. After getting my starter it took over 40 mins, before my main food came out. On a positive note the fruit punch is decent and the staff are friendly.

Back again and again.... love this place as it offers you something different from all the other places. Great Mexican restaurant with good quality food and drinks. Big portions served in a great location at one end of st Lawrence gap. Happy hour is 5-6pm every evening and 10-11pm, also 2 for 1 on a special selected drink every evening till close, Great cocktails. It gets very busy and normally no bookings are taken on partys less then 4 persons so you may have to wait out or the bar if there's space. Fairly priced and worth a visit.

Absolutely amazing place if you fancy a change from your daily food at your hotel. This Mexican place is high class with the service being excellent. The setting is also amazing as you're sitting right by the sea. Pricing is very fair given you're on an island where the majority of the stuff is imported. The home made salsa is so tasty along with the different colored chips. We had a great evening with a few house cocktails (2 for 1). All in all I would highly recommend this place if you fancy some nice Mexican food.

This is my go-to spot whenever I’am in BIM. I love the atmosphere, decor, ambience, and the ocean view from my table. The menu is also great and has a ton of variety. If I want a full meal, I’ll get the Cancun Combo or the pork enchiladas. However, my favorite item are the potato shrimp cakes. I absolutely always have to have them during my stay and you can’t lose with the drink specials. I highly recommend this place for anyone traveling to BIM and want to try Caribbean/Mexican fusion food.

My first outing since returning to my island after several months away. The ambiance, food and drinks were amazing. However, the costumer service was horrible, to the point I believe our waiter was intoxicated. He was overly annoying and did not contribute to our experience. Notwithstanding him, we still enjoyed ourselves. I would suggest this establishment paid closer attention to their employee’s state while carrying out their jobs. Absent him, they would have been rated 5 stars.
