I went here little over a year ago, got a taro milk bubble tea with tapioca and it was amazing.
Sadly today I really didn't enjoy my drink. I Ordered the same (except for the tapioca which they were out of, but that happens)
The level of sweetness/sugar was just insane. Even for me, while usually at most bubble tea shops I ask for extra sugar to be able to enjoy my drink. This was by far at least twice as sweet as a usual bubble tea with extra sugar. You couldn't taste tea or taro anymore.
I see below other people complained of this and it being adressed as each person having different taste, which is true, but maybe the standard should just be a regular amount of sugar and not an overload that makes it feel like you're only drinking liquid sugar. Or perhaps a sign to note that the standard is extremely sweet.
Aside of that, and I genuinely don't know why, it tasted chocolate /mocha like. I wondered if possibly the brown liquid I thought caramel or brown sugar had an additional flavour, whether they accidently put chocolate in, or it just created a weird mix with the taro (which again I could not even taste).
Sadly I ended up throwing it away after drinking half.
Idk if this was just bad luck but the difference between the one I got over a year ago is appalling.
Edit: I think the shops response was quite professional, and I defenitely would have returned if I wasn't too far away yet (I took it for drinking in the car on the way home) I usually do leave positive reviews when I think it's well deserved but only after visiting a couple times to see the consistency. I will give it another shot and not ask for the brown sugar to decorate. I do think that was what made it overly sweet and change the taste, they did ask if I wanted whipped cream maybe it's good to ask if people want the extra...
