It is a pity I cannot give zero stars. First of all they have very expensive food for the kind of place and area when it is. 23 euros for a burger, it is a price for city center Antwerp not for a pub-like in Berchem!! Second, I had the worst service ever. They didn't have the allergies info updated, chefs were not sure about ingredients and students waiters justify the lack of it with sentences like " I don't believe there is this ingredient". Thank god for a more experienced waitress that, at least, was honest about it. In the end, I could not order any food and only my friend ate. They offered extra fries since I could not eat, which however they made me pay in the end. Also, at first instance, they also tried to make me pay for the burger that I initially ordered and then I had to cancel, since the unknown ingredients could kill me. The nice waiter in the end told me that the chef learned the lesson...still they should not wait for me, cause they are obligated by law to have allergy info. So, overall a place to...
Read moreThe food was very disappointing for all four of us. The dishes (especially the pasta dishes) felt like they were made without any love for the food. The bolo had whole chunks of minced meat that weren't even separated and both the bolo and the carbonara had a very weak flavour. Considering the lack of flavour the price was way too high. Most of us didn't finish their dishes because it was so tasteless. There were also hardly any veggie options all was very meat heavy. I heard the Brel used to be nice but clearly there's something going wrong in the kitchen. Staff was nice though they forgot all our drinks for ages aber or was hard to get their attention, I totally understand that this can happen but it's nice to then offer something small like a desert to share for the table to compensate. That's of course not the decision of the waiter but...
Read moreAs good goes, the Bang Bang Chicken was dismal. It is touted as being beaten chicken served over lukewarm noodles. In truth, it's unseasoned shredded chicken breast hidden under fridge cold noodles, served with raw vegetables, and a thick peanut sauce scooped over top. It misses anything in the way of flavour, texture or skill. The fact that it was served moments after being ordered should attest to that as well. The place looks nice enough, and I hear from other people that not all dishes are this disappointing. But the extent to which this dish, made up of perhaps €3 of ingredients, bothered us, means I have no intention...
