Taverna nostra — Restaurant in Antwerp

Arrived on Wednesday afternoon (on the same day there was a concert in the Arena nearby. The weather was good so I sat outside, the road next door can be noisy but you can keep a conversation with your fellow guests. I was informed upon arrival that the regular menu was not available and only meat dishes were offered (I observed afterwards customers that had already ordered, they were also allowed a pasta dish). I decided to stay and chose, with mixed feelings (relating to limited offer), the mixed grill dish (there was several types of meat veal, pork, chicken and a (I suspect typical Romanian) sausage with a small salad and fries. The meat was tender and nicely cooked, the sausage was the highlight of the dish. Unfortunately I got the impression of being « milked » to choose from a limited options, due to simultaneous concert next door. By the time I finished my dish the terrace is full but the whole limited menu is pursued… Service is plain (had issues to follow up when it got full) and there was no real atmosphere. An unexpected pleasurable experience well worth a visit. We were welcomed most warmly by the hostess and host and were served a homecooked dinner of freshly prepared meats, both grilled and enveloped in cabbage leafs Together some lean bacon seasoned with a hint of vinegar, creamy polenta cake bathing in yoghurt was delicious full stop! Homemade brioche sprinkled abundantly with poppyseed accompanied our meal and a light Ursu lager helped wash down a generous meal we enjoyed very much. I recommend with a passion for freh...

Comment dire… malheureusement ça aura été une mauvaise expérience pour nous ce soir et… pour d’autres tables aussi qui sont partis comme nous sans manger…!

On passe commande et on demande des pâtes carbonara, sur ce on nous répond qu’il n’y a plus de pâtes carbonara (il est 18h50…), bon, ok! On commande une spécialité. On nous répond la même chose: il n’y en a plus… bon bein sur 5 plats proposés, il ne nous en reste plus que 3 choix. On commande du poulet crispy avec des frites… Peu de temps après, on reçoit nos boissons sans nos verres. Le serveur nous dit qu’il arrive avec nos verres. On attend, on attend, on attend. On fini par aller au comptoir et on demande nos verres. Soit… un oubli, ça peut arriver. Bref! Ensuite, on attend nos plats. On attend, on attend, on attend. Inutile de rajouter, vous l’avez deviné: on a.t.t.e.n.d ! En une fois, une personne vient chez nous et nous demande si on avait déjà commandé: heuuuu oui! Elle repart. On continue d’attendre. Voilà 1h, qu’on est là et on ne nous a servi que nos boissons. On perd patience, là mon mari va au comptoir demander où en est notre commande: on lui répond « ah mais en fait, nous n’avons plus de poulet crispy! » et quoi? On devait le deviner??? ! GROS PROBLEME DE GESTION DE STOCK ET COMMUNICATION!

Bref, on est parti et 2 tables attendaient aussi impatiemment. Une des 2 s’est levée juste après nous.

On s’est fié à l’avis google avec le nombre d’étoiles. Mais en tout cas, ce soir ça ne valait même...
