If you're a seafood lover, De Oesterput is an absolute must-visit. From the moment you walk in, the aroma of buttery garlic and Old Bay seasoning wraps around you like a warm hug from the ocean. The atmosphere strikes a perfect balance between casual and cozy—think seaside shack meets rustic charm.
I ordered the signature crab boil, and it did not disappoint. The snow crab legs were sweet, succulent, and steamed to perfection. Paired with corn on the cob, red potatoes, and sausage, every bite was bursting with flavor. Their house-made butter sauce is a game-changer—rich, garlicky, and addictive.
Service was fast and friendly, with staff more than happy to explain the menu and recommend pairings. Prices were reasonable for the quality and portion size, and cracking open those legs felt like a fun little treasure hunt.
Pro tip: go early or make a reservation—the place fills up fast. Bonus points for having hand wipes on every table and plenty of napkins, because you're gonna get messy (in the best way).
Overall, Oesterput is a five-star experience for crab fans. Bring your appetite, your shell-crackers, and someone who doesn’t mind getting their...
Read moreDid not expect to get such a big portion of racism by just coming to eat seafood. Thank you very much to the restaurant for the lost time and spoiled mood. Me and my gf came to the facility 40 minutes before closing. This is usually enough to eat and leave. We took a vacant table and watched as two waiters passed us ignoring, a few minutes later an owner or administrator, with a frightened face vaguely told us that he needs to check if there are free tables(there were more than 10 free tables not reserved ) instead of telling the truth that we don’t fit the charter of the institution and we will not be fed. While he was pretending of checking something out, an adequate waiter approached us and served our table with napkins and forks and said that he is about to bring the menu. A few minutes later the one with a frightened expression on his face approaches and mutters under his breath, takes the same utensils and napkins that the waiter just brought and says that we will not be able to eat here for no...
Read moreLong time since I have had such a nice reception into an establishment with an absolute great combo of attentive service and excellent food.
Nested within a yachting area it is reachable by foot at the side of Blankenberge's main areas, but it is a bit of a walk. It has an own private parking area.
Waiters pass by your table every couple of minutes just to check if all is a-ok, the menu is plentyfull and the quality is great. Also didn't have to wait long to get served.
It is a very big restaurant, and it has a kind of people's setting with long tables where more than one set of people can be stead in a row. All was very well organized though to be covid safe in a warm and well ventilated area.
I didn't take it this time, but they also have an awesome seafood platter selection that just eyes great to stary with. Very impressive.
Will definitely come back here and will like to call it one of my fav places now where it is a pleasure ro go at fair prices for the...
