La Tâche — Restaurant in Bruges

Place for the better cuisine. We had a five course dinner. The starter, main course and dessert were great but I was realy dissapointed by the aperitif and the cheeses. I'm a real Gin & Tonic fanatic. Too bad I had no choice, they only offered Gordon's Dry Gin with Nordic Mist which is really standard issue in G&T country. The cheese plate only consisted of well known cheeses I have in my fridge at home. No special tastes there. The overall service was good and friendly but not excellent as you would expect in this class of restaurant. We had to wait considerable time for our main course, but it was very busy so I can understand. Great price-quality balance! This restaurant is situated just outside the center of Bruges, making it easy to find parking, but it also means you need to plan your visit. Despite the post COVID challenges and the economic crisis, the owner and his small team manage to put an exquisite menu on the table, together with a great wine pairing. Hier langs gegaan voor een pré viering voor mijn partner zijn verjaardag. Altijd al veel goeds gehoord van deze locatie dus ook altijd al eens willen testen. Wel we werden geen moment teleurgesteld. Meteen bij het binnenkomen werden we begeleid voor apéro aan een tafeltje op hun terras waarbij we een lekkere amuse konden genieten van het huis. Dit wakkerde onze smaakpapillen al aan voor meer.. Kort halfuurtje verder werden we begeleid aan een tafeltje binnen die heel gezellig oogde en beetje weg van de drukkere grote tafelgroepen. Wat ik wel kon appreciëren. En dat gevoel van appreciatie werd des te groter toen men reking hield met mijn allergie voor soja. Doorheen de avond genoten wij van elke gang met heerlijke aangepaste wijnen die gebracht werd en was het een ware belevenis zowel voor het oog als voor onze smaakpapillen. Alles was piekfijn in orde!
