Food was not bad, also prices were acceptable, but what costs you 2 stars: While the waitress was very friendly, unfortunately the waiter at that day seemed to have a bad day. Honestly, between people who have to deal with customers: If a customer asks for a second (or even a third plate) for whatever reason, dont start a basic discussion, just bring the plate. For the price it should be appropiate to wash the additional plate also, i m sure you have a dishwasher ;)

Absolutely delightful, as always. We come to De Panne once a year and always ate here at least twice during our stay for the last 10 years. The food is always presented beautifully, the taste is ALWAYS great (once i had a chewy steak, sent it back and got back a new piece of meat, the softest and best i have ever had) and the staff never disappoints with their charm and competence. While the food here is delicious and notably of good quality, the service is very bad. Especially the older waiter with white hair and glasses is particularly rude. Not sure if he just doesn't like foreigners who don't speak the language, as he did seem to smile at other tables, but this is no way to talk to a paying customer, especially not at these prices.
