Sawadee Thailand — Restaurant in Dinant

The food was really nice but the service was terrible. The lady didn’t come to our table once, we had to go to the balcony to order. After eating, we ordered 3 ice creams with one ball each and 2 coffees and the rude lady said that she couldn’t serve the ice cream, if I wanted it I would have to wait, she said that she was alone there and had other tables to serve. Other people were having ice cream and it was literally behind her, in a small fridge, one ball of ice cream should be easier to serve than a whole dish. Than I said it was fine and just asked for 2 coffees. After a long waiting a girl came by to ask about the flavour of the ice cream, we said it and she just brought one for my husband and one for my son and the coffee just came 1 for my husband. I didn’t want to order it again, so I gave up, and when paying our bill we noticed that they charged us for the other coffee and the ice cream they never brought. We didn’t argue about it, but be mindful if the rude lady doesn’t like you, they can charge you extra things you didn’t consume. Another aspect is that they don’t provide you any receipt with a description of what you ordered, the lady just takes notes of everything. My husband noticed at the end of the paper, the last orders and the price, so we checked on the menu and it was equivalent to what we ordered but didn’t...

We live in West Vlaanderen and Antwerpen and this is by far our most favourite Thai restaurant ever! Every time we come to the Ardennen, we make sure to stop by this restaurant at least once and also before we drive back home, so that speaks a lot about how good the food is. If you are a fan of duck, get that! All the curries are good with the right amount of spice. Just thinking about it is making my mouth water haha. But if there's something I wish could be better, is writing the opening hours on Google, as there was a time when we arrived and they were close for the whole week :( But that's about it, the rest is all on point. We had a very bad experience at this place. We did not eat anything here because the staff was very rude. I am a vegetarian and I dont eat eggs. I asked this in my fried rice and the lady laughed and had a very weird response to this request as if she was mocking us. And this is not the first time that I have made this request in my 11 years in Belgium in various thai restaurants. We found the staff racist because we saw how they were handling other tables. I am sad to see that an asian would do this to another asian. Also, please understand the difference between vegan and vegetarian.
