La Vieille Demeure — Restaurant in Durbuy

That is a place with horrible service! If I could put a "zero" instead of one star I would. We have ordered tea and cacao + 2 portions of fries and we've been waiting for 30 min before we repeated our order again. And even then nobody brought us anything so we asked for our order again (!) and they brought only drinks at the end. So we decided to not wait any longer for our fries and paid and left. Shortly, I noticed the receipt and it turned out we paid for fries that we have never even received! Such scammers I have never seen anywhere! Quaint little place in a quaint little town. Nice to look at. That's it. Tourist trap!

Ordered a Croque Madame and an Omelette and waited half an hour for them to arrive... Can see into the kitchen, there were only two orders hanging up for them to do including ours. Staff just chatted away like they were on break. Left the Croque Monsieur in the grill for ages until I could see smoke coming out as it was starting to burn.

Food was okay. Nothing special. Definitely not worth the wait! €9 for the sandwich and €11 for the Omelette is way too expensive.

Our second visit to this beautiful hotel was even better than our first thanks to the extraordinary hospitality of hosts Silvia and Gilles. The welcome is warm, the rooms superb - spacious, clean and designed with taste and imagination, the beds large and comfortable and the breakfast delicious with tasty homemade products.
