Brasserie Le Nouveau Pont — Restaurant in Etterbeek

Lovely ambience with good service. Reasonably priced and tasty meals. We were all pleased with our meals. The terrace was packed and the waiter and waitress managed very well. I had to hassle them several times for the Caisse TVA. FRAUD: I was incredibly offended and disappointed when in front of me they blatantly modified the cost the Ticket de Caisse TVA. The manager did a "CORRECTION -€5" on it so that they reduced their tax bill and increased mine. This is fraudulent. He did it in front of me, and then shrugged and said there was something wrong with their machine. We all pay too much tax in Belgium, and nobody minds people defrauding the government, but people do mind when you treat your clientele in a similar fashion. It is a legal requirement to provide guests with a Caisse TVA. It is illegal to modify the ticket, and morally worst to disadvantage your clients in order to give yourself a tax advantage. And all this over the tax for 5 Euros. Penny pinching! We decided not to leave a tip. I left angry and disgusted. The brasserie would have had 5 stars if this had not have happened, instead they got 1 star: Voila. Everything else was very good, but we mayn't be welcomed back after...
