The restaurant absolutely has potential, nicely decorated inside and with a relatively professional and attentive service level provided by staff. The points that most certainly can be improved on (especially given the price of dishes and aiming-at-haute-cuisine-ambience) in our case were the language skills and attention to details: 1. the gentleman who served us spoke almost exclusively French to us - for this type of establishment and location within Brussels another language (English and/or Dutch) is a must. Once our French speaking colleague joined for dinner, the two of us were almost completely ignored and all food/wine-order related conversation went through her (by the staff) even though we were still directly addressing the gentleman. 2. Bringing bread and butter to the table without providing a bread plate to eat on it would be perhaps fine in a local, relaxed eatery, but not in this type of establishment.
Third and last point (and this can be quite subjective, admittedly): the food portion vs price ratio is not a favorable one - we did leave the restaurant with more empty space in our wallets but felt there was still some space left in our...
Read moreAverage. The experience was not bad, but for the price, I probably wouldn’t return. The lunch menu has very few options (2 starters and 2 mains). The starter soup was good, flavorful. Nice warm bread and fancy French butter. The main was a letdown. The shrimp were well cooked but the bed of black beans was just odd and didn’t go at all with the rest of the dish. There was supposed to have been coconut somewhere in the picture, but I could not taste it at all. A nice enough presentation and pretty flatware improved the experience. Two menu lunches, one dessert (a solid ile flottante), a coffee, two glasses of wine and a bottle of water were €100. I liked our table by the window near a cozy radiator. Nice that it is a bit off the beaten path. I do agree with someone else’s comment that in Brussels in the type of restaurant this is aiming to be, servers need to...
Read moreI have to say very good food but poor service! We have ordered at Hadrien for the NYE dinner. After calling them and making sure we will have the 4 courses menu that they had online for 55/pax, they asked me to pay which I did and we went to pick-up the meals on the 31st around 2PM. After arriving at home we notice that it is not AT ALL the same menu as indicated and it's not 4 courses but 3 courses! Moreover, no indication or what so ever to reheat all the dishes! Tried to call them 6 times and left messages and as of today still no answers... In the end we managed to reheat the meals, and the food was great! But imagine we had someone with a specific allergy? And we all were thinking to have 4 courses and not 3... Very disappointing in the end and stressfull the day you have 8 guests at your house to celebrate...
