Afro Bowl Basilique — Restaurant in Ganshoren

Although the ratings of the restaurant are very high, I have to give it a low score because of the experience we had here. We had to wait 2 hours to get our food. And we never got it all until we left. We arrived there at around 19:15. There was only one table left. After deciding on the order, we payed for our food at 19:35. From that point on we waited more than 2 hours to get our food. There were orders after orders arriving on the delivery apps. Also there were people waiting to get their food with pick up. And somehow they were always served before us. Also people who arrived after us got their food before us. We were 2 people. All we had ordered was a taco with fries, 3 samosas and one bowl of chicken with rice. I went after one hour to check on the status it was still being prepared. I went the second time at 1h 30 and was again informed it will soon be done. Then the chef came to check the orders he took our receipt and left. Still no food. The waiter came to check what we ordered there was no bill (since the chef took it) and we had to again repeat our order. After 1:45 we got our chicken bowl and the taco. The samosas came after we asked twice at around one our after our first order (with meat although we ordered with vegetables). And for the fries I asked once and we did not get them only when we left. The food was very tasty and the atmosphere was very nice (when we arrived we were the only foreigners). So the vibe, the taste and the atmosphere is there. But the delivery was very very poor. They could have stoped receiving orders from the apps while they served the people inside. Not to wait 2 hours and get the wrong order. And we couldn’t just give up our order since we paid when we arrived. At least some apologies would...

Food was 100%. Like, literally sublime. The service on the other hand, not so much. Walked in there at 5:15 pm. Ordered one bowl that was supposed to have fish in it. 40 min later I was told that they had ran out of fish.

Fine, happens, but I don’t see how it took them over half an hour to realize that. The lady who initially took my order wasn’t friendly at all. Making me feel very unwelcome.

The lady who changed my order was very friendly thoughtful and patient. Appreciated that very much. All this to say that this is a great place but they should really get their logistics straight, so that people who make the effort to come to the restaurant are not disadvantaged by orders on deliveroo...

Je tiens à exprimer ma gratitude et à partager mon expérience extraordinaire au sein de ce restaurant. De l'accueil chaleureux jusqu'au dernier plat savoureux, tout était tout simplement parfait. Je souhaite tout particulièrement remercier Marilou, une employée remarquable qui a rendu cette soirée encore plus mémorable.

Dès mon arrivée, j'ai été accueilli avec le sourire et une grande courtoisie par Marilou et son équipe. Le service était impeccable, avec une attention portée à chaque détail, et chaque membre du personnel s'est montré agréable et professionnel.

La qualité de la cuisine était tout simplement exceptionnelle. Chaque plat était un véritable chef-d'œuvre, parfaitement présenté et délicieusement savoureux. Les saveurs se mariaient à la perfection et les ingrédients étaient frais et de la plus haute qualité. Je suis un véritable amateur de cuisine, et je peux affirmer sans hésiter que ce restaurant propose une expérience gastronomique digne des plus grandes tables.

Marilou a été la cerise sur le gâteau de cette expérience culinaire. Son professionnalisme, sa passion pour son travail et son dévouement envers les clients étaient évidents à chaque instant. Elle était attentive à nos besoins, nous conseillait avec soin sur les plats et vins à choisir, et s'assurait que nous passions un moment inoubliable. Sa personnalité chaleureuse et son sourire contagieux ont ajouté une dimension humaine à cette soirée, faisant de nous des convives privilégiés.

Je recommande vivement ce restaurant à tous ceux qui recherchent une expérience culinaire exceptionnelle. Les employés, et en particulier Marilou, sont des véritables professionnels qui mettent tout en œuvre pour offrir un service de qualité et rendre votre visite inoubliable. Je suis impatient de revenir et de découvrir de nouvelles créations culinaires dans cet établissement d'exception.
