Dear manager, if you’re reading this, fix your whiskey sour and fix your attitude asap.
We ordered two whiskey sours (€10,5 per cocktail) When the waiter arrived with the cocktails both my friend and I noticed they looked very pale for a whiskey sour, almost white. We tried it and it was the absolute worst whiskey sour both of us have ever had. It was sour to the point of not being able to drink it. I went inside to talk to the waiter and ask for something else instead, I picked Aperol with the idea that it’s something you can’t mess up. The waiter was very calm and friendly but then the manager came to talk to me and I have never felt so disrespected in my life. He made fun of me for complaining since it’s an “international recipe” so I just didn’t know what it tasted like. He followed by staring at me while pouring the cocktails down in the sink. Then when I asked for two aperols he said “oh, but are you sure you like aperol? I have already wasted my money on you so I want to be sure you’re not going to complain about the aperol.” He kept repeating the same sentence a couple of times so we decided to pay for the food we had there and leave. The waiting staff was very friendly but that was all. Literally the worst experience I have ever...
Read moreWe came here for brunch on Sunday and had a great time. The place looks very nice inside and has a nice terrace in the front. The staff is friendly. However we received boiled eggs but they were still raw, the service team recognized this and apologized, and brought new ones. These were also raw. The egg cooker was broken or something and we were offered scrambled eggs. The scrambled eggs were fantastic. But..How can a kitchen team not boil eggs? The quality of the brunch was very good, the salad was dressed perfectly, tomatoes seasoned nicely, tapenade was tasty. Still I feel that the English brunch is more food than the other ones. I wasn't really full at the end, perhaps a hot item would have helped. Also we asked for green tea with the brunch and we had to pay 50 cents extra for the green tea because the standard is black. I thought this was a bit strange especially because of the egg situation. I would have appreciated a gesture to compensate. But still we had a good time, food was good quality and staff...
Read moreI usually refrain from leaving negative reviews, as everyone makes mistakes. Therefore, after a first very disappointing diner (cold and cheap burgers with friends), I just passed my way. However, as I am living two blocks away, I decided to give another try to Emile Bistro after a couple of months. Beer is all right, as they usually serve the latest Brussels Beer Project editions - nothing you cannot find in the night shop around the corner though. What was supposed to be a nice ‘apero’ made up of quality mountain cheese (‘tomme de savoie’) and bread turned out a disaster. Bread was awful and barely baked - tasting like random supermarket toast bread, and slices of cheese were awfully thin. All of this for 7.5 euros. Crips were for...
