Shubh Sagar Indian Restaurant — Restaurant in Koksijde

Our experience at the restaurant was deeply disappointing and frustrating. The food tasted terrible and didn't resemble Indian cuisine at all. After a tiring trip to Plopsa Land, we arrived at the restaurant at 8:10 PM. Despite placing our order for four starters and four main dishes by 8:20 PM, the starters weren't served until 9:10 PM, only after our son began crying from hunger and we repeatedly requested our food.

Quality: The quality of the food was appalling. The capsicum was slightly rotten, and the chicken/meat seemed very old. The biryani tasted like a mix of tamarind and vathakulampu rice, which was unpleasant. The chili paneer was undercooked, leaving a raw chili powder taste.

Service: The service was equally poor. Despite the waitress moving around frequently, no dishes were served to any tables for an extended period.

Additionally, the next day, we all experienced stomach issues, which further cemented our decision to never return to or recommend...

Ok guys I dont usually write such long reviews, but this place deserves it.

FOOD: This was absolutely the BEST Indian food we have ever had (chicken tikka masala, chicken safrani, mutton roganjosh and mutton tandooori with loads of naan). It was just amazing, the food tasted so good and the spices were so nicely blended together.

LOCATION: The restaurant has beautiful decorations, the statues and the umbrellas, THE COLORS. We loved it. The chairs are sooo comfortable and there is a enough of space between the tables.

SERVICE: The waiter was very very kind and you could see that he cared about giving us the best possible food experience. We really don't understand the reviews complaining about the waiting time! We received our food pretty soon after ordering.

PRICE: Really fair. Not too expensive, and absolutely worth it.

⚠️ Warnung vor Online-Bestellungen ⚠️ Ich möchte dringend andere warnen: Bei einer Online-Bestellung für 4 Personen wurde der volle Betrag per Kreditkarte abgebucht, obwohl keinerlei Leistung erbracht wurde. Bestellung aufgegeben, kurz darauf ohne Begründung storniert. Vor Ort war das Restaurant geschlossen. Kein Essen erhalten. Dennoch wurde der gesamte Betrag abgebucht. Mehrfache Versuche per E-Mail → keine Antwort. Telefonisch: Ausrede, dass Mails nicht gelesen würden, Versprechen auf Rückerstattung – nie eingehalten. Unprofessionelle Kommunikation über SMS/WhatsApp, danach keinerlei Rückmeldung mehr. Nach Kontakt mit der Bank blieb ich auf dem Geld sitzen. Sehr enttäuscht vom unprofessionellen Umgang. Essen kann ich nicht bewerten, aber: Ich rate dringend von Online-Bestellungen ab!

Order placed, shortly afterwards cancelled without explanation. Restaurant was closed when visited. No food received. Full amount still charged. Multiple emails → no response. Phone call: excuse that emails are not read, promise of refund – never fulfilled. Unprofessional communication via SMS/WhatsApp, then no reply at all. After contacting the bank, no refund was possible. Very disappointed with this unprofessional handling. I cannot judge the food, but: I strongly advise against ordering online!

Commande passée, annulée peu après sans explication. Restaurant fermé lors de notre venue. Aucun repas reçu. Montant total quand même débité. Plusieurs e-mails → aucune réponse. Appel téléphonique : prétexte que les e-mails ne sont pas lus, promesse de remboursement – jamais tenue. Communication non professionnelle par SMS/WhatsApp, puis plus aucune réponse. Après discussion avec la banque, aucun remboursement possible. Très déçu par ce manque de professionnalisme. Je ne peux pas juger la nourriture, mais : je déconseille vivement toute...
