We were walking around to find a restaurant for lunch on a Monday. Every restaurant was closed except this one. Since we have no choice, we walked in with the hope to have simple thing to eat. It was a gem!
The restaurant is bigger inside than how it looks outside. The tables are clean, with white table cloth, fresh flower vase on every table.
Before we know the staff came to take order. Within few minutes, they suprised us some amuses. It was not only delicious but also nicely decorated.
I didn't have to ask for an English menu, as they already gave me that. The food was excellent. The speed was fast. We didn't have to wait long like at other restaurants in the Netherlands.
The restrooms are clean, no smell, well organized than other typical restaurants in the city centers.
I ordered the seasonal asparagus dish with lamb and my husband had asparagus prepared in traditional Belgium way. They even offered us a small salad, some fries together with crokets.
We did not order any desserts because they served a lot of Belgium cookies and chocolate with my tea.
The price is very reasonable compared to what we got in quality and volume.
Highly recommended!

Read moreGood beginning... which quickly turned to a NIGHTMARE. You're received with small appetizers. The waitress was polite and welcoming. Starter, an asparagus velouté and a lobster soup, served with small warm breads and toasts accompanied by isigny butter. All quite good and palatable. Correct wine, chateau Turcaud cuvee majeure 2014. Then started the nightmare: pork loin filet with red wine sauce, what could go wrong? Well, the pork was indeed dead, overcooked, drawn in a cherry sauce cooked in red wine. The side dish salad was mostly composed of cheap mayonnaise... and some lettuce leaves. The baked potatoes were reused baked potatoes : it was so oily you could pore oil out of the bowl. What we did and saw the oil was ORANGE, a smelling old oil. My friend took the white asparagus with nord sea shrimps. Overcooked asparagus with something faking a hollandaise sauce. A real wonder when you're at the border with Holland. Though we explicitly complaint about it, pouring the ORANGE oil out of the potatoes side dish in front of the waitress : no apologies, no excuse. The manager was so gross that he thanked us like nothing happened until I explicitly ask him for an explanation, which we didn't get... If you have 100 eur to spend, please, DON'T SPEND IT...
