Country Roads — Restaurant in Marche-en-Famenne

Horrible experience. The place is extremely nice, well designed and comfortable, but then... wait, wait and wait. Wait to get the menu (very well conceived and designed, too), almost 10 minutes wasted. Then wait for someone to get my order (the place was far from being full). Then wait to get my crepe... 10, 20, 30 and +. And finally the crepe was very disappointing: by far too thin, overcooked, almost crisp (forgotten on the fire?). I asked the ingredients of a home lemonade: "Secret. We are happy you enjoyed it and this is enough." with a smile that did not reach her eyes. Very client...

Dès notre arrivée, bien que l'extérieur soit accueillant, l'expérience s'est rapidement dégradée. Nous sommes restés debout à l'entrée pendant une bonne dizaine de minutes, sans qu'on nous salue ni qu'on s'occupe de nous. Finalement, nous avons interpellé la serveuse pour lui demander si nous pouvions nous asseoir. Elle nous a simplement dit "One minute" avant de repartir sans donner d'explications. Lorsqu'elle est revenue, elle nous a sèchement lancé : "Maintenant, c'est bon !".

Nous nous sommes installés pour prendre un café. Nous étions troiset qu'il y avait seulement sept autres clients dans la salle. A part nous, une seule table n'avait pas encore été servie. Malgré cela, nous avons encore dû longuement patienter avant qu'un homme, que je suppose être le patron, ne vienne enfin prendre notre commande : deux cafés et un thé.

À ce moment-là, il nous a informés qu'il faudrait attendre un long moment car une table de trois personnes derrière nous avait commandé à manger et qu'ils fonctionnaient "dans l'ordre". Stupéfaite, j'ai demandé si nous devions vraiment attendre qu'ils finissent leur repas pour que nos boissons soient servies. Il m a dit que oui et que si cela ne nous plaisait pas, nous pouvions partir.

Face à tant d'impolitesse, je lui ai fait remarquer son comportement irrespectueux. Il a alors coupé court à la discussion en nous demandant de quitter les lieux.

Je suis scandalisée par cette attitude. Lorsqu'on traite les clients avec autant de mépris, on n'a rien à faire...

I was pleasantly greeted by waiter and told to take a seat. I could not understand the menu and he went and got the chef who could speak good English. After explaining the first item in the menu which was Polish pork I explained I did not like, he whipped the menu out of my hand and proceeded to tell me that his wife was Polish and they had the best Polish pork in Europe. Whilst that may be the case I prefer Irish pork. He stormed off and left me leaving me...
