Pot Mami — Restaurant in Ostend

Simply the best Filipino restaurant in Belgium and perhaps one of the best in Europe! I am a Filipino so I can vouch for the quality of this restaurant.

Food: Authentically Filipino! If you want to taste some typical but very delicious foods from the Philippines, this is the place to go. The portions are perfect and the presentation is very attractive. Kudos to the chef!

Service: 100% Pot mami succeeds in radiating the Filipino way of treating guests. You will really feel like you are treated as a family. We are known for our hospitality and both the waiter and chef (which I suppose are siblings) will make you feel like you just stepped inside a Filipino household. What is amazing is that they do this without losing the restaurant level of service.

Ambiance: I must say that they really want to give you the feeling that you are in a restaurant in the Philippines. The deco were mostly original (based on the materials used) Filipino crafts. Beware though that the theme of the resto is oriental streetfood so if you are looking for a quiet meal, don't go during peak days/hours. But having a table full of people laughing and enjoying each other's company without reservations is also typical Filipino!

Practicalities: Don't go here without cash because cards aren't accepted. Make sure that you come here with an almost empty stomach so you can enjoy every bite as the portions are quite generous. Also, book in advance! There's a restaurant in front of it and it was almost empty but Pot mami was packed! It can get really busy here sometimes.

Will definitely go back here in my next visit to Ostende. Proud...

You are welcomed by an amazing, funny and witty host who has the most charming way of making you feel the full experience.

And then the food! It's the first and i think by far the only restaurant is Belgium that offers you the authentic cuisine of the mighty PHP, we ordered the salo salo, and it was stunning.

More food the meets the eye, more then enough for 2 persons and the adobo was to die for! From caldareta till sinigang, from turon till the pisang Orange.

I felt like i was back in the philippines! The pancit bihon was perfectly cooked. The meats fell off the bone and the sauces were savory and rich in flavor.

If i can give a restaurant more then 5 stars they would deserve it.

A shout out to the owner and host, they made my fiancé feel like she was home and 16 again.

Het team vormt een coverband die zorgt voor een warme en uitnodigende sfeer.
