Delhaize Oostende Hazegras — Local services in Ostend

This central location of Delhaize has recently been renovated and offers overall a pleasant shopping experience with mostly wide isles.(see my photos) You'll find mostly name quality brands here. However, when it comes to price, Delhaize tends to be (far) more expensive than for instance Albert Heyn for the same brands. Delhaize is on the same price level like Carrefour and in general more expensive than Aldi or Lidl. You pay for the convenience of the central location, compared to Albert Heyn or Colruyt which in Oostende tend to be located more in the periphery of the city. When you regularly shop in Delhaize it's highly advisable to ask for a 'Superplus' loyalty card so once in a while you'll get extra promotions through the website and extra loyalty points you can exchange for cash reduction (€ 5) or reductions in general. In summary: Delhaize at this location offers a pleasant shopping experience but when it comes to price overall it can't beat supermarket chains like Albert Heyn, Jumbo, Aldi or Lidl when it comes to price for the same brands or white label products. Tired to go shopping with a small backpack which had my phone, cards, cash etc was told I would have to put in a locker, only wanted a couple of things, fresh bread etc, didn't even get in the store, I needed the backpack to carry groceries back to a boat moored in the harbour. I simply don't understand what the issue was. I wonder if had bought my wheelie shopping trolley would it have been the same. Who would leave their values Les in a locker, or proceed to carry everything, which means I wouldn't have hands for either a basket or to lift groceries, some welcome in Oostende. The lady at the cashier was so so rude! Unprofessional, bad service with a bad attitude towards a paying customer! Whilst I was queuing up, I felt a little discomfort on my belly as I’m pregnant, so I was rubbing my tummy, and she Kept looking at me 3-4 times with a look like I had stolen something, then when came to paying, she was like “hurry up, there’s people waiting’, she said this in such a rude way and started huffing and puffing!!
