Oostends Historisch Museum De Plate — Attraction in Ostend

Cosy museum that can use an upgrade. Housed in one of former queen Louise-Marie of Belgium which lived here until her death. Part of the museum is dedicated to the life of the royal family and you can go upstairs to the belvedere where the queen reposed with the view over the sea (now blocked with other buildings.) The other part of the museum tells the hard life of the fishermen. Entry is low (only 4€) and is justified if you want to take shelter for an hour or so...

Nice little museum on Oostendes history and the first queen of Belgium who died in this building. 3-5 euro entrance - depending on age. Don’t miss to take the stairs up on the very top level to where they carried the sick queen so she could breath ocean air. Now you only see...

Ein wirklich informatives Museum mit besonderem Raum. Die erste Königin von Belgien, Louise Marie d' Orléans, ist in diesem Haus im Alter von 38 Jahren gestorben. Das Sterbezimmer mit Mobiliar ist noch erhalten. Darüber hinaus viele weitere interessante Informationen über das doch recht junge Königreich Belgien. Ich habe historisch Einiges dazu gelernt. Und die Dame an der Rezeption war auch sehr freundlich. Das Einzige, das ich vermisst habe, war die Information über den wichtigen Hafen von Oostende nach England während des 3. Reiches. Hier sollte man auch Details nennen.Trotzdem 5 Punkte, weil der Besuch alles in allem sehr lohnenswert war. Ich werde sicher nochmal...
