An den Linden — Restaurant in Saint Vith

We are Americans who stopped here for lunch on our way from Germany to Brussels. The ambiance is lovely! It is in in a small town near the main highway. The waitstaff was young but helpful and caring (not many spoke English!) but the food was incredible, the cucumber lemonade was perfect for a warm summer day, and the food was luxurious. I ordered the chefs surprise pizza dish, and it was a thick crepe pancake with delicious toppings- ham and cured tuna, caramelized onions and tomatoes with lots of cheese and spices. Definitely enough to share! My company ordered the meatball dish which was in a sweet brown sauce with delicious fries. The table next to us ordered the mussels, which were served in a huge pot and smelled delicious, as well as a steak with fries that looked equally as appetizing. I really do not recommend this place. Stuff is not professional at all. We arrived there at the time the closing kitchen after the lunch service. The weitheres didn't tell us we need to order food to be served, just said we needed to choose from the menu very fast as the kitchen is about to close soon. As we decided not to eat but only had a drink, the time we wanted to order, she told us in a very impolite manner, we can't get a drink if we would not have a food. Without any apologize or a gesture of sympathy she turned away and let us leave the place. I strongly recommend a restaurant's management to train the stuff in service and customer...

Food is good but toooooo slow!!! We waited 50min for food. When we showed impatience, together with the explanation and apology, the waitress gave us a lesson on how “impatience doesn’t help the situation” @.@ But wait… waiting for 50 min after ordering food without any explanation is normal in this region? Plus it’s the worst timing to give your already annoyed customers a lesson on how should they behave. Only for food, I could give 4 stars, 1 star minus for the speed, and another star minus...
