Pasticceria da Giovanni — Restaurant in Schaerbeek - Schaarbeek

I am quite a regular costumer here, and I would have given * if it was solely for the quality of its pastry (and, to a lesser extent, of its meals). Unfortunately, though, all over these years the ladies serving there are particularly detached, focused on selling as much as possible, when not openly rude. I used to bring my kids there once in a while in order for them to enjoy some typical Sicilian pastry. I had to renounce after a few times as the ladies would repeatedly insist in proposing them additional pastries (to be paid, of course) although I had clearly explained, in my role of father, that I disagreed. Still now, when I fall into temptation and go there to buy few pastries I then regret it, as the service is too often beneath the minimum acceptable in terms of kindness, attention and respect of customers. Sono stato in vacanza nella bella Bruxelles nel mese di aprile. Proprio vicino la nostra abitazione c'era questa pasticceria italiana. Prima di andarci ho letto le molteplici recensioni negative ma mi sono voluto fidare lo stesso e sono entrato. La mia visita si è svolta la mattina di Pasqua (16 aprile 2017). Entro e aspetto il mio turno. Sono stato ben 15 minuti ad aspettare poiché arrivava continuamente gente che veniva servita prima di me solo perché loro avevano ordinato a telefono (beh ma che scusa è? Se uno ha prenotato quando arriva aspetta, come me, il suo turno e ritira la propria ordinazione). Ma il peggio ancora doveva arrivare. La signora che spicciava i clienti prendeva i cannoli con le mani, si avete capito bene, con le mani! NESSUN GUANTO, NESSUNA PINZA, solo con le mani! Le stesse mani con le quali si toccava la fronte e si sistemava i capelli (ovviamente non indossava nessun cappello in testa). Quando, finalmente, arriva il mio turno chiedo gentilmente alla signora se potesse prendere i miei cannoli con la pinza e non con le mani. La signora tutto d'un tratto si altera a seguito della mia richiesta e mi urla contro dicendo cose del tipo "Mica abbiamo la peste qua?", "Noi le pinze le usiamo sempre!" (Aveva servito almeno quattro clienti e aveva usato sempre le mani). Mi ha trattato da vera scostumata come se quello in difetto fossi io! Per me l'educazione viene prima di tutto e quando una persona ha sbagliato fa più bella figura ad ammetterlo e a scusarsi anziché inveire contro! Ciliegina sulla torta: il conto! 🍰 The Italian pastries are succulent and tasty. They all look delicately crafted. There are also some italian dish for the lunch. Look at my pictures. The viennoiseries are delicious as well. The bakery is also a restaurant as we can have a seat. ☕ They also serve Italian coffee of course. 💁🏻‍♀️ The waitress are kind and warm. 💲 The price is high but it's worth for what we get. But we have to pay attention as the price is not clearly displayed. 🅿️ It's not easy to have a parking space...
