I recently dined at Les Rives du Gange, an Indian restaurant that aims to evoke the charm of rural towns in Gujarat or Rajasthan. While the food was decent for the price, my overall experience was a mixed bag, landing at a solid 3 out of 5.
On the positive side, the menu features a variety of traditional dishes with good flavor. The biryani rice with chicken was good, the chicken tikka massal was tasty and the garlic naan had that nice, comforting taste. However, while the food was enjoyable, it didn’t leave a lasting impression or feel truly exceptional.
Unfortunately, the restaurant's environment was quite disappointing. The dusty and crowded interior made it difficult to fully appreciate the meal, and the ambiance felt more neglected than inviting. It seemed like the décor could benefit from a good clean-up and some refreshing touches.
Adding to the woes, the restrooms were poorly maintained. They were dirty and had an unpleasant odor, which is never a good sign and certainly impacted my overall impression of the place.
In summary, Les Rives du Gange offers a reasonably good meal but suffers from a lack of cleanliness and atmosphere. If you’re looking for a casual Indian dining experience, it might satisfy your cravings, but be prepared for a less-than-ideal environment. maybe we should have tried their Take Away? Will...
Read moreFor me it is the best indian restaurant in Brussels. The price and the quality are excellent. The waiter is very kind and attentive. The style and decoration is cozy. The food is a truly indian experience: the flavors are exactly what you could taste in India. The portions are big and perfect to share. I could not tell which dish is the best as they are all incredible, but the machli ki biryani (fish biryani with saffron) is a 'must', as well as the dum aloo (stuffed potatoes which are a Varanasi specialty). Together with garlic naans and aloo parathas makes it the perfect lunch. To finish, the desserts are also very special. I would recommend Rasmalai and Khir if you like...

It is a restaurant where you cannot get food. I arrived at 22:00 once and 21:30 once, they are open until 23:00, still they sent me away (I am a well dressed women, but felt like I have some disease) I would NOT recommend this restaurant to anyone. I just saw them bring food to a table, to many people, but when I wanted to eat they sent me away. Outrageous! Run away...
