Cafe Boerenhol - Ieper — Restaurant in Ypres

We only stopped for a beer or two when we visited this WWI themed cafè bar in Ypres in September 2024. Unfortunately our beers were bottled rather than draft. Not sure about you but a good draft is always better than a bottle.

Nice location, good service. No food available when we visited sadly but we will probably visit again when we return to Ieper, next year or maybe in two years time.

Plenty of seating outside as well as in, with the memorabilia adjournment the walls and ceiling and every conceivable space in between. It also has a fairly old number of football shirts, which I'm sure aren't from WWI.

The view across the street to the back of the town hall, museum and church is pretty good to. Certainly better than when we visited two years ago when considerable construction and renovation work was underway. Now it's a nice bar to sit and watch the world go by and to soak up the sun 🌞. We certainly didn't experience an unruly or aggressive service when we visited, on the contrary the waiter was very friendly 😀.

1st place i ever went in in Ypres in May 2017 & What a find. A Pub/Café Call it what you want. BUT Its Got & Basement Museum Too that is Something Else..
