Sunset Sweet Stop Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in Placencia

We stopped in to check out a rave recommendation to eat at “The Sunset Sweet Spot” and met the owners, Jordan and Myra Young and crew last year on vacation to Placencia. Wonderful couple, they were so warm and welcoming that we became friends right away. ANYTHING out of Myra’s kitchen is amazingly delicious and really top quality. We’ve been fortunate to get to eat at some great places around the world, and we can honestly say that this cozy little tucked-away gem is as good as it gets! Myra is happy to cook your catch however you like it, and be sure to ask what she’s got back there for desert. You may luck out and she’s made her wonderful bread pudding! We hit it as much as we could and tried virtually everything on their ample regular menu, as well as their posted daily specials. Always a delight. Also, we’ve had ceviche all over the peninsula- honestly, her’s is the best. Jordan and Myra have built something special in Placencia Village. If they're not too busy, take a moment to get to know them and you'll understand why. Just wonderful people, through and through.

Everything about their establishment is on point. Jordan's customer service skills are exceptional, as are the masterpieces coming out of Myra's kitchen. They have nailed the trifecta of delicious food, extraordinary service, and an authentic Belizean dining experience. It may be a rustic outdoor dining area, but the gentle glow of the string lights and Jordan's Caribbean playlists will make it feel like perfection.

Great everyday menu, complimented by exceptional daily specials. Wide ranging menu options; from affordable yet delicious traditional Belizean fare, to high end seafood dishes and specialties. Jordan can fix a mighty fine cocktail as well!

There are many wonderful places to eat in the village, but Sunset Sweet Stop needs to be at the top of your list. Don't pass this place up, it is a must try...

Miss Myra is the best chef in Placencia, full stop. What she has created on the property she grew up on is as local as you get. Jordan behind the bar makes great drinks, and his service as well as Kimara makes this a place you’ll want to go to every night to try something new. I was here 4 nights in a row and cancelled other reservations so Myra made me a dish off the menu (picture, traditional hudut)

This place is special. You feel welcomed from the moment you walk in, and feel like they are family by the end of your meal. And everything is flavorful and delicious!
