Not sure why this place has good reviews. The customer service was very bad and the food was very bland. We were seated by the owner who was very stoned! it was hard to understand what the heck he was trying to say about the menu. Then the waiter came to us and told us when we are ready to order to come and get him. We took a couple minutes to look at the menu. When my husband was ready to order food he came to the waiter to let him know that his ready. The waiter was standing at the bar rolling a big blunt and said let me finish rolling the blunt first and then I'll take your order. We ordered chicken wings and fries. Wings were bland and not seasoned at all and fries were soggy. After our meal we wanted to pay with a card and suddenly was told they only take CASH. First of all there was no sign at the front of the Pickled Parrot Bar that says CASH ONLY which is LAME! Second, if that's the case when they take your order they should let you know that in the beginning of the serves not at the Not END! My husband told the owner that there was no sign about cash only the owner said yes there is and pointed his finger at a small sign behind the bar written in small letters where you can barely see. I can go on and on... This is not how you do business... And also at the same time we witnessed a couple walking out on the owner. First they were seated and ordered drinks and then owner came to them and told them they can't sit there that they need to sit at the picnic table the couple said the waiter sat them here. The couple got mad and walked out. It's CRAZY! You can't make this stuff up! We will never go BACK to this...
Read moreStumbled upon the Pickled Parrot while walking around during a cruise stop. Owner Eugene & bartender Remo are welcoming and friendly. Beers at a great price. Didn’t eat anything but the $10 chicken parm special smelled great. Eugene was kind enough to show us around town in his golf cart, which really made our day in Belize. Love that they moved from Jersey and living their dream. If we find ourselves in Belize again we’ll definitely go back, this time with a trinket to add to the philly eagles shrine! Glad we stumbled upon this place and highly recommend anyone else exploring the area to stop in. Thank you again to Eugene for the...
Read moreGoing here weekly for the lunch specials I've come to know Lynn, Eugene and staff very well. One thing I can say is that they are always consistent. The food is always good, the service top notch, the drinks great and it's all affordable $$. You'll often find locals, expats and tourist in good lively conversation. Whether you're there for lunch or dinner, there's always much more going on. A jam session, a soccer game on the tube, or just entertaining yourself with Mia and Ziggy the dogs, you're sure to have a good time. There's nothing pretentious about the pickled parrot, it's laid back caribbean style atmosphere will keep you...
